The night vision works great except mine stopping working and I couldn't figure out why. However, Amazon replaced it and they are great😊. For the most part I use the night vision so this was a must. Ive had several other cameras and this one surpassed them by far. Purchased this monitor when my child was a few months old so we didnt use it right away. A month or so after we started using it we loved it except battery life. But night vision worked pretty good. Since my son started sleeping in his own room at 7 months due to him being such a light sleeper we really depended on the night vision. Well the other night I walked in on him with his blanket wrapped around his head and of course I couldn’t see because the night vision went out after only a few months of use. I contacted Amazon and of course my return time was up through them so I was advised to reach out to VTECH well I did and I have yet to hear back going on 3 weeks now. Very disappointed because I really liked this monitor at first but now it is completely useless even for sound because it has a delay. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I'm giving this 2* but I actually hated it. We returned it once for a replacement, hoping the problems were an error. But the second monitor had the same issues. It has ok basic functions, but for this price I want to pay for at least quality and the machine to work as it states in the manual. I have a cheaper monitor now that does way better.It has great video when it's bright in the room, but in the dark it was very white and I had a hard time making out what my kid was doing, even had the brightness on low so it wouldn't be as bright. Not great night vision.The sound was great the first day, then the second day (on both video monitors) it began to get lower and lower, then really loud! And repeated at all times. I had it on the highest VOX setting, hoping it would stick to one volume, however it woke me up at night several times when it would get quiet then loud suddenly, for no reason.Lastly, the instructions and description state that you can turn off the LCD (on the video screen) while the sound remains ON, to conserve battery while still hearing your baby and it's not as bright in your room at night. But that is not the case with the 2 I had. No matter what I tried the sound always turned off when the LCD went black. I pressed the "View" button (LCD off) for no longer than 2 seconds each time, hoping there was a magic way to keep the sound on, but it never worked. LCD must be on at all times of you want to hear your child, even though it states that you can turn it off while sound remains on.We returned the replacement monitor and went with a different brand entirely. I was very disappointed. I gave it 2 shots, sorry. This monitor fell very short. Thank goodness for Prime and eligible returns for free.

I actually liked this monitor for the 8 months we used it... We use the soothing sounds feature, the color is good when there is light in the room with the camera, and we found it reached far enough we could be in the front, back, and side yards while our son was napping and had no connection issues. However, about three weeks ago the night vision just stopped working. As soon as we turn on a light we can see on the monitor just fine, but without light it is basically now just an audio monitor. The night vision was never really great, but it got the job done and allowed me to see if my son was standing up, sitting up, laying down, etc. But I would have hoped it would have lasted much longer than it did. Now I need a new monitor, and definitely will not be purchasing this one again.

This baby monitor is a great buy! I ordered on a whim for my sons room. It was easy to set up. I wish it had a crib mount instead of a wall mount. It picks up sound well, even my sons grunt can be heard over the system. The picture is slightly grainy as it's not HD and the night vision does not work well. It's still a great system.

We've had this monitor for probably 6 months now and up to this point loved it over the audio monitor we had previously. Like many others all of a sudden our night vision seemed to just completely quit working. The idea of returning under warranty and being without a monitor during that time wasn't appealing so I sought out to fix it. Eventually I concluded that the sensor located just above the camera that triggers the night vision was being oversensitive. You can simply cover this up with some black electrical tape and the night vision should turn back on and stay on 24/7 leaving you with a black and white image. Or take a black Sharpie and color over the lens, this still allows a little light to pass through and so far seems like the best fix. It took a little fine tuning to get the right amount of Sharpie on the light sensor to make it switch between night and day modes.

Overall great camera and quality, night vision does get stuck sometimes and won’t turn on when dark I usually have the place my hand over Lens to completely cover and it will switch over. Beside that I love it
