The first AC unit was ordered and on the day it was supposed to arrive, tracking listed it as delayed at the checkpoint in Dallas, due to severe weather. I knew that was not accurate because we live near Dallas and there had been no severe weather in the area. I waited until the new arrival date but when it didn't arrive then either, I called Amazon to see what was going on. I was put on hold, so the rep could call to find out what had happened and where our order was. He told me that the manufacturer had failed to ship the unit to Amazon, at all. He apologized and cancelled the first order, then re-ordered it. Since the name was a Chinese name (Daikin) I asked where the manufacturer was located, China or America? (The "tariff wars" had just begun.) He assured me the unit was produced in the US, so that should not present any problems. The second unit came on time, they actually used a Hertz truck to deliver it, not the usual UPS. My credit card had been charged near the beginning of the process, so I waited to write this review to make sure my card was not going to show a double charge. I'm happy to report there was only one charge. Daikin and Amazon both produced a happy ending here.I am also happy to report that I am pleased with the product. We've been using the unit for about a week now. After our last AC that was very loud, I have to say I'm very impressed with how quiet this one is. I can't even tell that it's running, as a matter of fact, I check it several times a day to make sure I still have it on. (We do turn our AC off when the weather is mild, to save a bit on the electric bill.) The controls are simple to understand and operate. I like that you can set on/off times so that it will only run for a certain daily time frame. This will save us money when we travel. Installation was easy with no "hitches" as reported by the tech who installed it. He showed us how to take the filters out for cleaning, which looks pretty easy to do. Our last unit had an alert that would light up when the filter needed cleaning, but I didn't see anything in the instructions about an alert on this one. Aesthetically, it looks pretty unassuming on the wall, it blends in well and doesn't take up much space.

Received the item. When I got an HVAC pro to install it, the inside you unit would work but the outside unit would not turn on. Daikin customer support was horrendous. Hours and hours on hold over multiple days. When we finally got to talk to someone they were able to identify the issue as a bad stepper motor in the outside unit.Made a warranty claim and they are saying we will have a new solenoid coil sent…. Odd because the daikin tech said it was a stepper motor… the worst part is we will receive the new part in 26 weeks.DO NOT BUY. Buy somewhere local where you can receive service if something goes wrong.

I guess you pay for what you get. I have four daikins on my house. They appear to be good quality

This split unit is great. Gets ice cold and hot. Every thing was done properly ( vacuum procedure and electrical hookup) and just in time for the hot weather. Pretty basic model so it's pretty easy to use.

This is my second Daikin. The first one I've had for four years in a very hot/humid environment, and it has been a great unit. This one is in a hot desert environment. It is extremely quiet and efficient at 24,000 BTUs. I had both units professionally installed.

Unbelievable...Purchased 24000 BTU Daikin- Good packaging, prompt delivery.. Then it goes down hill from there.... E5 upon startup (compressor overload) This ended up being PART 402-3421, sound familiar, same issue as a previous reviewer on an 18000 BTU Daikin.. Here is the disgusting part - after the cabinet was opened, the discharge pipe thermistor wasn't even in the slot along the discharge pipe, it was just hanging there... An ohm test confirmed this part (the entire harness) was defective.. Coincidence, impossible.... 14 weeks (3.5 months) for the new part..... which doesn't mean the unit is good, just means this part is fixed, what's next, the PCB board?? This is a brand new unit which was obviously tampered with.. Did I mention this is a BRAND NEW unit... Very disappointing... time wasted, money wasted.
