I bought this for my elderly mother. I would not say this will build muscle or help you lose weight, per say. But the fact that it moves on its own it has been good to keep my mom's circulation going. And the remote is easy enough for even her to use. It is sort of a set it and forget it type of thing. She puts her feet on, turns it on, it starts to move her legs, she sets the speed, and then she just watches TV. It will automatically shut off after 30 min. For the elderly I think this is a good tool.

I bought it for my 80 year old mother. It works better than expected and really easy for her to use.

With or without shoes?,strap should attach to pedal except it just goes around foot and pedal

Husband uses this every day. It is quiet, and you can easily move it around if necessary due to the handle. The quality is great and the noise level is extremely low. I don't even hear it when in use. The speed is adjustable and i like it because after 30 minutes you get a great work out.
