Upgraded 304 Stainless Steel Bypass Sensor Valve for Hot Water Recirculating System

Previously purchased the plastic type, but this is quality treaded stainless steel!

I have replaced all the OEM plastic valves with these stainless ones. Install is easy and they function great. Fingers crossed they last longer too, but in any event aren't any more expensive than the plastic ones.

I am replacing my Grundfos 595926 Valve with this Moonshan Upgraded 304 Stainless Steel Bypass Sensor Valve Kit. In order to accommodate the different orientation of the inlet and outlet on both the cold and hot side, I replaced the existing supply hoses. This allowed me to mount this new bypass valve onto the same backing I used for the Grundfos. There isn't any mounting holes for this new Moonshan valve, they supply you with two pipe clamps...that's one thing the Grundfos has that's better than Moonshan - built in mounting holes in the base.Moonshan has a higher setpoint for the thermal valve. They have theirs's set at 104 degrees, while others are set below 100 degrees. This is something I will take their word for...I did not test that exact spec...but the operation of the thermal valve does work like a champ.If you are installing this for the first time, know that the threads on this Moonshan (and the Grundfos) are not NPT (tapered); these are iron pipe threads (NOT tapered) and require a gasket between the two parts in order to be water tight.

Overall the product works. It does not fully close but leaves a small remaining stream. Maybe because of my set-up.My main issue is that 1/2'' thread is not quite right: some of the sensors come with a 1/2''x3/8'' adapters that would've helped with my setup. I had to find my own adapters, but for some reason, regular pipe fittings don't fit.

This stainless steel unit appears to be of higher quality then the original Watts PVC unit, so I'm hoping it will function longer and more reliably. It was delivered rather expeditiously considering it originated in China. My biggest complaint is that there were no instructions whatsoever nor any indication of top from bottom when installing.
