Friedr Dick Corp-F. Dick Sapphire Cut Dickoron Sharpening Steel, Round - 14"

I first purchased this with some hesitation due to the price. At about the same time I purchased a like product for about one third the price. I have used both for about four or five years. Bottom line ... in spite of the price I would buy this one again. It simply reeks of quality.. At this point my other sharpener went belly up because of chipping. This one remains almost as I bought it. Can't ask for more. I will shortly replace the other with one of these, but with a different grit. In that way I will have two quality sharpeners with slightly different grit or abrasive textures to be able to more finely sharpen. I place high value on quality tools. This one is a keeper which says a lot since quality tools seem ever harder to find.

Best steel I've owned. Good length for larger knives, excellent quality, aligns a freshly honed edge and quickly renews a knife edge that doesn't require full sharpening. Pricey item but the quality is obvious and the results make this a life long investment. Hope that helps!

Great but expensive

Good for very fine sharpening. Knives are sharp as strait razors. For everyday use I would recommend the regular cut over this steel.

Super fine. Puts the razor edge on your nice knives. This knocks the burrs off and hones the edge.
