Originally, I purchased it with the intention of using it as a Japanese-style table so that I could enjoy meals with my tiny dog on my lap—he always seems to find his way over when I'm eating, and I wanted him to feel included. However, I ended up buying a stool and opting to sit at my counter instead. Initially, I debated returning the bench because my NYC apartment is incredibly small, and I wasn't sure if I could accommodate both a stool and a bench in the kitchen area. But let me tell you, this bench is so stunning that I'm seriously reconsidering returning it at all. It's an absolute bargain considering its quality and craftsmanship—I've seen similar benches priced at over $200! Not only is it functional, but it's also a true work of art. Its elegant design adds a touch of sophistication to my space, and I've received numerous compliments on it already. Despite my space constraints, I'm seriously tempted to find a way to make it work because it's just that beautiful. I disagree with some comments that say it's shaky and unstable. My wife and I weigh close to 300 lbs in total and the bench is sturdy enough for both of us. It has a Japandi feel to it and we love it. Assembly was easy. The package arrived in flat boxes. It would even be better if it ships sooner.
