My kids love shelling with these and me too! Only suggestion is the basket will come apart with a lot of digging, so make sure they are easy on the scooping part. Otherwise functions amazing and is easy to use. Lightweight and travels well.

when at the beach we like to walk the beach and look for interresting rocks, shells and what ever else we find, but since we are getting older get tired of bending over to pick them up. ordered these for our recent trip and was very pleased with them. They telescope in for easy transporting and out for easy use. they are light weight which makes them easy to carry while walking along the beach. they are not heavy duty and wouldn't stand up well for digging in the sand but for scooping up shells and small rocks from the beach they work really well and had no problem with them at all. I much prefer the scoop shape over the round shape that others have. For the price I don't think you could do better.

These worked well in the beginning. One day I was scooping and the scoop broke on one. They just really easy and the bags are not really wide enough to quickly toss in your treasure.

Great for the cost. I liked how it breaks down to fit into our suitcase. It did the job but bent very easily which I was bummed about. Did find shark teeth and lots of shells with it though

$20 for two is alright. A year ago before the chinese tariffs they were probably $10-12. I was skeptical about the build quality but was pleasantly surprised when I checked them out after arrival. These will do nicely for their intended purpose which is sifting beach sand. They are light at 10 oz., compact at 23" collapsed. Long enough to not have to bend down while using at 42.5". The basket is 6" long, 4" wide, 2" deep at the deepest point. The shaft and basket are non magnetic as stainless should be. The frame of the basket is magnetic to a good rinse after use in salty conditions is probably a good idea, then allow to fully dry before collapsing and putting away. The basket threads onto the shaft and the threads are pretty loose so I put a drop of waterproof shoe glue in the threads before screwing it together. No reason I can think of to ever take the basket off anyway. These look perfect for some light beach metal detecting. My special lady friend has been a lifelong beach comber and will get plenty of use from hers as well.

These things were awesome for digging for shark teeth! They’re extendable and easy to use. My kids were able to use them no problem and we found lots of shark teeth with them.

I got this for the pole sifters. They are great and held up even with big shells and as a make shift hiking pole. The bags were cheap but a nice idea as an add on

Not very strong. Works well in very dry sand but not in wet sand. You can skim the top of dry sand with them but dont use to scoop deep or dig.
