Factory Look & Comfort — Better Than Universal Covers
Review Body: I tried universal slip-on covers and add-on pads, but they looked cheap and made the armrest too high. This replacement fits perfectly, restores the original factory look, and feels comfortable every time you use it. The material and fit are excellent but be prepared for some disassembly work. Installing it isn’t complicated once you know the steps, though I had to figure out a few things that weren’t explained in the videos I found online. (See photos for before-and-after comparison — the difference in fit and finish is clear.) Installation Notes: Remove the plastic cover on the back of the center console. It snaps off, but the top piece has to come off first (not mentioned in most videos). Unscrew the four screws holding the lid, then take the whole lid to a workbench. Remove the plastic bottom of the lid and unscrew the bracket. My latch mechanism came loose during this, but it was easy to reattach. Most guides say to remove the old cover and either staple or glue the new one on. Personally, I found that leaving the old cover in place provided more cushion and made gluing easier. Stapling like the original would require a special staple gun and could damage the thin plastic underneath, while gluing directly to bare plastic would be tricky. I used contact adhesive instead, which worked perfectly. I clamped the cover into position with six spring clamps, then glued it section by section, trimming excess material as needed. Once the adhesive set, reassemble everything and the fit looks great. Tips: Skip the stapling method — glue is much more practical here. Spring clamps make the job easier and ensure a snug fit while the adhesive cures. Leaving the old cover underneath adds cushion and simplifies the process. Take your time with trimming; small adjustments make the final look much cleaner. Bottom line: Universal covers may be quicker, but they compromise comfort and appearance. This replacement takes more effort, but the result is a factory-quality finish that looks right, feels right, and lasts. (Last photo also shows my seat repair project — I’ll be reviewing that separately.)

Replaced 2018 fusion console lid cover
This definitely isn't oem quality, but for the price it isn't bad. Original one was rich, shiny black. This one is very obviously fake leather and not shiny. As long as you take your time getting it on correctly it looks pretty nice when done. I used duco cement because it sets up quickly, and I glued one side at a time. Make sure to pull it tight and get it centered when gluing. Factory cover is stapled in, but regular staples didn't seem to work and staple gun staples are too long, so I went with the adhesive. To remove the lid, carefully remove the back of the console. It's just held on with 4 clips. Then you can access 4 t20 screws that hold the lid on. The plastic that covers the inside of the lid is also just held on with clips. Take it off and you can remove the cover by pulling out the staples. I also didn't love that it was folded up for shipping, but the creases seem to be going away. Try not to get any glue on the outside of the cover. I got a tiny bit on one side and it's not going away, but it's not too noticable I assume this fits 2013-2020 Ford fusions. Mine is 2018
