Updated: ELAC C6.2 vs C5.2 vs unifi Center
UPDATED: After performing an A/B comparison between the ELAC Debut 2.0 C5.2 and the ELAC Debut 2.0 C6.2 I honestly couldn’t hear a difference between the two. Please note, I am running the centers with ELAC Debut 2.0 F5.2 Towers and Dual Subs. I think the main difference between the two centers is the physical size as the C6.2 is significantly larger and may take up some of your TV space. The true match for the F5.2s might be the UniFi 2.0 center as it is a true 3 way center channel which matches the 3 way F5.2s. But the unifi center is also significantly more in terms of cost. Based on my ears I would pick an ELAC center channel that best fits in your system, in terms of physical dimensions and is in your budget as you will not be disappointed with any of these centers channels! I was in the market to upgrade my current Klipsch RP soundstage (LR RP8000f towers and RP404C center, the largest models in the Klipsch Reference Premier series). So I recently demo’d a lot of different soundstages (and effect channels) and have over 20 years of experience in doing so. I am just your friendly AV enthusiast looking for the best bang for the buck in a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos system, I can’t afford to keep up with the high end models audioholics often reviews and own for personal use. That being said, I’ve sound tested the following Center Channels and thought this may be helpful. The following were evaluated: ELAC Debut 2.0 C6.2, Klipsch RP-404C, Polk Audio Signature Elite ES35 Slim Center Channel Speaker, and the Polk Audio Reserve Series R350 Slim Center Channel. PLEASE note that all centers were correctly auditioned with their matching Left and Right channel speakers (by brand and series) to give the best comparison review. I found all soundstages to have pros and cons, but which is the best bang for the buck that is affordable and sounds the best? I am sticking with the ELAC Debut 2.0 for my soundstage and using the C6.2 center with the F5.2 towers. Why? The sound emitting from the C6.2 is accurate, smooth, and natural, no artificial warmth or brightness is added and that’s what I love most about the ELAC Debut 2.0! My favorite part of the ELAC C6.2 center channel was the fact it had the best overall dialogue clarity too! I think the magic behind Elac is that they don’t advertise and they care more about high quality crossovers and whats under the hood. Caution, this Center channel is HUGE! Yes, since the center channel is the most important channel I went with the C6.2 center rather than the C5.2 and stuck with the more affordable F5.2 towers. I would have loved to get the F6.2 towers but they weren’t in my price range. Im only powering the Elac Center Channel with a 90 watt monolith m7100x amp and took my time breaking it in the correct way, for 30-40 hours at Full Range per the manufacturer’s recommendations, which you don’t know what condition speakers you’ll get if they’re used! If you want to invest in high quality great gear I would definitely recommend the ELAC Debut 2.0 setup, as pictured. UPDATED: I have had this ELAC Debut 2.0 soundstage for over a year now and love it! I am so glad I sold my Klipsch RP speakers and upgraded to the ELACs! I have since then invested in ELACs Atmos toppers and ceiling speakers as well. Which do a great job adding immersion! One, I enjoy listening to music a lot which makes the ELACs take off! Listening to music on horn driven Klipsch speakers just isn’t a fun experience. And finally I prefer the ELACs over the Polks because the Polks I tested were very expensive and lackluster. At least Klipsch has a horn driven tweeter to add “vertical immersion” I couldn’t find any pros behind the Polks as ELAC just did everything right by hiring Andrew Jones to design their great speakers and I think Polk is still figuring things out maybe? As I also tried Polks XT towers with 8” bass radiators and was completely disappointed. Im shocked they used radiators instead of woofers and bass ports.

Sleeper Center of the Year, Definite keeper!!
My neighbor and I are older and not wiser types, and we have 5 home theater systems between us. So we enjoy the endless quest for musical perfection, (within means) and have a lot of fun competing in unison in the journey to musical Mecca. We are definitely old school, and enjoy the old legacy stuff that was beyond our means while raising kids and paying mortgages. Steve Gutenberg is our hero, and has given us years of guidance, and discussion in sorting thru the throngs of good stuff out there, to the speakers we deem as magical. When I say magic I am talking about the speakers that immediately jump out and grab the spotlight, and there is no denying they have superior sound. Well the ELAC Debut 2.0 C5.2 Center is a true standout, and is an undisputed champion. Another reviewer called it the Holy Grail of centers and I confidently second that. What is interesting is the way the speaker projects the vocals, it fills the void in the center of the room. It is almost holographic, and very rich and vibrant, like a lead singer in the band morphing in your living room. It swiftly replaced my older Boston acoustic VR-10 center, and that is a tall order, but it really is, that good. It is not a small speaker, but has enough "cajones" to fill the center stage wonderfully. We have placed this speaker into 4 of the 5 systems and the improvement was significant in all cases. It just seems to meld into each system and sounds subtlety unique in each configuration, what a great quality! Giving it some juice only makes it feel larger, fuller and clearer as it blossom's and fills the room with sweet velvety goodness. Needless to say my buddy ordered one that night as well, this center easily checks all the boxes, and adds a new one called emotion, (that smile on your face, as your head bobs with the jams) . If your system is a little yawnish (not spectacular), and needs something to bring it up wow standards, just drop one of these baby's into the mix and enjoy the upgrade. NO Regrets, No turning back. It's a super great value. If you are starting with a new system, go ahead and pick your other speakers, what ever they are, but reserve the center spot for this future "Hall of Fame" Elac!

Great value!
I recently upgraded the front speakers of my surround system to ELACs. I’m very happy with that decision. This center speaker is a beast! I paired it with the B6.2 bookshelf speakers. I was afraid the C6.2 would be too big. This C5.2 is quite large but it fits nicely without having to raise the tv too much. Sound quality is outstanding connected to my Onkyo TX-NR 686. The new Debut 3.0 series has a more modern look but with the price reduction the 2.0 cannot be beat! I also really like the front ported design of these as my room requires placement very close to the wall. That reduces distortion. If you’re on the fence, give these a try

Very happy.
I'm no audiophile but I just wanted to share that this center channel speaker has allowed me to enjoy a richer sound experience with my large LED flat screen TV. It's not as slimlined as a sound bar but I'm perfectly fine with that. I don't know what else to say other than that I do not regret my purchase.

Solid & sturdy construction with effortless reproduction of sound. They sound beautiful.
This center channel speaker sounds fantastic. I have 4 Elac Debet 6 bookshelfs for my fronts and rears and they have the same “timbre” which makes the set sound fantastic. This center is capable of playing anything a movie should ask of it. Dialogue is clear and pronounced. No need to use the AVR to increase the output of the center. All my speaker are matched and they sound like I paid much much more. Great HT set up.

I was not prepared for how hard this speaker goes.
I was replacing a tiny centre channel speaker that I'd never really liked, but put up with, because the original spot I had it in, it was really the only option that it fit into at the time. I went looking for something at a reasonable price that could make voices sound like actual voices, instead of the tinny garbage I'd been growing tired of, and landed on this absolute beast. Somehow I wasn't expecting the sheer size and weight of this thing. Then I plugged it in and gave it a go, and was floored by how much better it sounded than what I'd grown used to. Suddenly dialogue sounded like actual dialogue coming from humans, instead of a bad approximation. This thing is so good, I've noticed in a couple of TV shows that it faithfully reproduces bad mic setups (or weather) that occurred during filming, where you can obviously tell whoever mixed it was struggling to isolate voices. This thing is absolutely bonkers, and totally worth the price, which honestly is still fairly reasonable.

Great speaker, but arrived damaged
Pros: Speaker sounds great, it nicely complements the sound from my ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2s. (Went with the C5.2 because of space limitations.) Much better sound than what it replaced. Would give it 5 stars, but: Cons: Though advertised as brand new, the speaker clearly wasn't. I'm guessing it was someone's product return. It arrived devoid of the original box and packing material, instead wrapped in a thin styrofoam bag and surrounded by Amazon's paper fill. The speaker cabinet was damaged in one corner around one of the grill peg holes (see picture). I'm guessing it had been dropped at some point landing on that corner. The alignment of the speakers and ports also looks a bit askew. I don't think this an inherent problem with the speaker or ELAC, but a shady business practice on behalf of the vendor. Happy with the speaker from a sound standpoint. Just wish it wasn't damaged and wasn't misrepresented as new when it clearly wasn't.

Great center speaker... but note the size!
ELAC has a long history and they're well-known recently for their bookshelf speakers, which sound great and are reasonably priced (especially when on sale!) I had Elac Debut speakers for my home theater and decided the Debut center speaker would be a great addition. I have been thrilled with this, it provides great clarity and holds its own as a center channel speaker in a way that my previous Polk center channel didn't. What I didn't expect is how BIG this thing is. I have my TV on a riser on a TV stand and, thankfully, this just barely fits under it. If you've got the space for this thing, it's definitely worth it!
