Perfect M.2
Blazing fast and rock solid reliability - the perfect 2tb drive for AM5.

Pointlessly fast
I should not have bought a GEN5 drive in the first place. If you only game don't bother as there is no difference to performance. Get a bigger gen4 instead

Amazing
I don't need 2TB of this for my windows but the speed and vast storage make my PC run very smoothly

Nand prices on the up
This is a great product. I initially bought it for elthe extra storage from my 1tb sn850 so I planned on upgrading my motherboard, CPU and ram. However, with ram prices as they are, I'll be happy to stick to gen4 speeds for the time-being. However, 4tb will be nice even in a couple of years. Bought for £280 but like ram, and prices are rocketing and is now close to £400 so, swings and roundabouts and all that. Probably not worth it now at £400.

Supper fast gen5 m.2 drive.
Works great. Drivers haven’t quite caught up and total speed not reached but it’s super fast anyway. 2gb and above have slightly higher speeds.

CRUCIAL T705 PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD - Has Issues.
I had for 13 months and Windows 11 was on the drive and then I updated to 25H2 update and the pc wouldn't reboot and Windows warned (after the fact) to back up data.... their was now a major issue. Nothing I could do even after changing settings in bios. Once I removed the CRUCIAL T705 2TB I was able to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows on my SAMSUNG 990 PRO and then today 14 11 2025 I updated Windows 25H2. Their is definitely some issues with the CRUCIAL T705 so CRUCIAL must take note and fix these issues. I'll never install Windows 11 on a CRUCIAL SSD. Thankfully I was able to send back to Amazon under waranty and have a brand new rerplacement. Question now is will I replace back into pc as my third drive or just keep my two existing SAMSUNG drives and if I reinstall the CORSAIR I'll total 8TB which I don't really need yet.

Edit 3: To add some spice, Crucial decided to not indicate on the commercial invoice of the returned drive that it was a warranty replacement... so UPS charged me taxes (129$) to clear the drive at customs! I'm done with Crucial. I had to contact Micron, who realized the mess and sent the proper documentation to UPS. A week later, the drive finally came. So that's it, no more Crucial for me, their support is India based and is not helping. If you buy, pray everything will go well... Edit 2: After contacting support, where I was asked to test the drive in a USB enclosure, I'm now told the RMA is declined because I removed the heatsink. Hey MICRON, this is not acceptable. I will fight this decision but will definitely look elsewhere first for future products. Can't RMA a 1000$ drive because I followed directions? You have got to be kidding me. Edit: Today, after a reboot, the computer didn't recognize the drive. After several attempts, took the drive out and onto a USB Nvme enclosure. No luck. This is ridiculous, a 1000$ drive that doesn't last 90 days? On top of that, there's no cross shipping for RMAs, which means I can't even go to a data recovery center as I don't have a grand floating around to buy a spare. Failures happen, I get that, but the customer support is not on par with the fact this is a premium 1000$ drive. 0 stars, buy from a different manufacturer. Was: Upon installing on my new Asus ProArt x670e motherboard, I was blown away by the speed of that Nvme, but less so by the operating temperature. This is a new computer build, which has 2 Noctua NF-A14 iPPC (B00KFCRF1A) about 4 inches away, blowing cool air past the Nvme. Still, the idle temperature was anywhere from 50-60C. Running a crude stress test using Crystal Disk Mark, the drive went up to 74C before I stopped the test. This is with the bundled heatsink. TLDR; Amazing drive, don't buy the bundled heatsink version, add a proper heatsink

I feel like we need to be clear about these high-end products and manage expectations a bit. Sometimes the marketing can lead one to believe you're getting more than you are in terms of real-world performance. To be fair, Crucial does deliver on their claims. This is a fantastic product, in that it is reliable, well made, and technically faster than last gen. That being said, unless your use case is one in which you're reading and writing gigantic files, you're not going to see the benefit of gen 5 vs gen 4 in "practical" use. Most reads and writes are not sequential, and as such, you're not going to feel the speed. Just launching into various apps and games, you won't feel the difference at all. The potential difference between load times is within margin of error for the most part. To use a car analogy, non-sequential reads is like having a Bugatti that goes 200+ miles per hour, so you floor it coming off a stop light hoping to go fast. But the next stop light is 100 yards away. You can go pretty fast in that amount of time, because it's still a super fast car, but there's not enough room to reach top speed. Compared to a Corolla (spinning platter HDD), it's night and day. Compared to Lamborghini (gen 4 M.2), there might not be enough difference to make a difference. The are real world applications to these drives, to be sure. Mostly in the productivity and server space, though. Navigating the internet and loading games is not it, in my opinion. But with that said, if you're the kind of person who just wants to latest and best because it's available, go for it. That's what I did. I use this as my C drive with the OS on it, because why not? Theoretically, there's some speed increase to be had there, even if it's hardly noticeable.

excellent drive that runs well with excellent speeds. doesnt run excessively hot which is helped by the provided heat sink.
