I’ll lug this book to the beach with me and my friends and we will all take turns reading aloud fascinating tidbits that make us gasp and laugh. The information is well-researched and the writing is clear and compelling. I’ve gifted this to many people in my life and it is a guaranteed hit for even the most hard-to-please recipients. Cara Giaimo is one to watch and I can’t wait to see what she writes next. Review: What a beautiful book! - The way that the short, well-written articles are organized means a surprise on every page. I especially like that the highlighting of different aspects of the wild, not just plants and animals, is included. Also fun are the tips for actually seeing the subject. And as an old Biology teacher, I'm thrilled to be learning new things. For example, I was taught that tropical birds eat clay for digestion, but new research shows that not to be the case. No spoilers here - get this lovely book and read for yourself. I hope to pass this down to a younger family member in hopes that they will catch the passion for nature that I have.

Like the animal books I liked as a Kid, but far more informative, mature, and intelligent
I have fond memories of my Mom reading me books of animal, plant, and fungus facts when I was a kid and not being familiar with this series, I was expecting much of the same. I was only half-right. While this book is full of interesting, organized facts about various things in nature, most of which I did not know before, the book was a lot more intelligent than I would've expected. I thought the book might have been better for my nephew but I can see any inquisitive adult really getting a kick outo f this one. The wild life of sections where various people who do nature jobs were not my favorite and I preferred the more detached facts about the living creatures more, I can see how most people would like them. If you liked fun fact books as a kid, this will really suit you as an adult and I very much recommend this to anyone, because I'm fairly well-educated and most of the stuff in this book was new to me.

Nature Knowledge!
Excellent for the curious mind to learn more about the other livings beings we share this planet with. Very interesting learning about the wide variety of creatures and locales – both common & exotic. Also loved the format – subjects broken up into easily digestible sections.

This is a brilliant book for kids and adults. It is so packed with interesting facts and information. My son has hardly put it down. It is designed in a way that each page makes you want to read the next fact. There are a lot of big passages of text for small kids so I’d say age 8 and up would enjoy it most.

Auch als Biologe ist man immer erstaunt, spannende Fakten zu lesen. Hätten Sie gewusst, dass es Tiere gibt, die sich für andere in die Luft sprengen?
