Monoprice Premium Home Theater Center Channel Speaker - 3 Inch Mid-Range Driver, 8 Ohms, 100 Watts, Wall Mountable, Black

This isn't an enthusiast level speaker, but what do you really expect for such a bargain price? I finally got around to installing a surround system in our bedroom with an old amp I had laying around, but I still needed a center speaker. Since it's just a bedroom I only needed something basic and cheap. I was pleasantly surprised by this speaker, so much so that I replaced the center speaker in my living room with this one and used the old one in the bedroom instead. It has a much fuller sound than the Pioneer it replaced and a good mount louder. My only caveat is that the top end isn't very bright, at least not as bright as other speakers I have. The build quality is also decent. It's hard to ask more of such an inexpensive speaker.

I'm using this as the center channel for a bedroom 5.1 system. It is the right size for the space. Dialog is balanced and clear. The small amp driving it never gets turned past 1/4.

Would give all 5 stars if the speaker posts were larger. It was not easy to fit the speaker wire into the posts, I guess my wire is thicker than normal so I had to shave down the wire to make it thinner to fit.

This is a small center channel that can't handle much power. It sounds less like a specific center channel and more like a modified book shelf speaker. But for the price not bad.

This speaker replaced an Advent/Jensen speaker. The sound quality is as good as the old speaker. I have a Yamaha receiver that has the ability to test each of the 7 speaker in my surround system. It also changes each speaker's output for a balanced system. Everything worked perfectly.

Available replacement for a failed Energy Take 5.0 center speaker. Is perfect. The Monoprice home theatre is based on them, so much so that they had to re-due them to get out of court. Same wattage, same frequency range, about the same size. Reviews have them being as good if not better than the Energy [Kilpsch], and the're right--the speaker sounds fantastic, cannot tell a difference. Really good speakers that are really affordable..yey Will probably end up buying the Monoprice 5.1 set of speakers when the first Energy satellite fails (they're due), and just sell off the subwoofer...

There's problems. Oh my God! Might be the worst thing I've ever ordered! It makes me choke from the fact that this poor thing couldn't handle ANY home theatre bass at ALL!! How could I ever say anything Positive? These things popped louder than a firework on the 4th of July! AVOID! Save your money and buy something WORTH purchasing, a well known name brand. If I could leave negative stars, I would!

I bought this because Monoprice has a reputation for providing good value for the money. This speaker turned my 4.0 system into a 5.0 system, and I believe it helps make dialogue stand out through the center channel. Don't expect too much bass, but I was able to instruct my receiver to divert low frequencies to the larger main channel speakers. Based on this good experience, I'll probably buy one of Monoprice's low price subwoofers to enhance the bass.

2nd time I received a used item sold like new on Amazon. Checked the speaker grille and upon removing it, confirmed my suspicions. USED, used, used! The previous owner probably used it with the grille off as it does sound just slightly better with it off, upon testing. The thing actually works but the mid-range/woofer driver dome (the largest one) was covered with some food dirt which was totally disgusting. I had to clean it out. And there are even some scratch marks on it as well!!! Since the price increased since I bought it, I can't just buy another and return this one, ending this fiasco, while hoping to get an actual brand NEW unit at the same low price. So I'll have to live with it. And some things couldn't be cleaned out... Disappointing. I would put zero stars if I could as Amazon seriously is the only E-commerce company to send me a used item every once in a while.... The sole reason I'm still sticking with them is that their prices really are unbeatable for certain items. Just that this kind of fiasco every once in a while is really starting to piss me off....:(

Not a bad center channel for the price. I'm putting 125wpc thru it and it's not as sensitive as my quads but isn't poor at all for conversations. Quality in sound and construction isn't impressive but it does the job for a good price. Happy with it this past year.

A very good centre speaker even better if used in a dual centre speaker config meaning 2 speakers sat just under each end of the screen you are watching.

Bueno para salas pequeñas. Se acopla bien a frontales grandes. Mejora en los Diálogos por su tweeter creando una mejora auditiva.
