Awesome Rack for Kayaks!
This is an excellent rack for transporting kayaks with a pick-up truck. I have a 2011, F-150 Lariat Super Crew with a short bed. My wife and I purchased two, 14' Wilderness Pungo 140 kayaks and we needed a way to transport them. I was looking seriously at purchasing a set of $700 Thule or $400 Trac-Rack bed racks. Most of the kayakers and paddleboarders I talked to said that these bed extenders are the best way to transport your watersports equipment. After just one use I was convinced I had made the right decision and saved a ton of cash in the process. This rack is heavy duty, easy to set up and easy to store. I can install the rack in my hitch, load the kayaks, and be on my way in about 10 minutes. It can be used on any vehicle with a 1" or 2" receiver trailer hitch. It comes with an adapter for a 1" receiver hitch. It can be configured vertically also. You can place your watersports equipment on the roof of your vehicle and in the yoke of the rack. You will need to purchase a receiver hitch pin since that is not included. I also purchased lashing straps and a red bungee flag from Amazon. Don't get ripped off by paying for high priced, name brand, racks. If you purchase this bed extender, you won't be disappointed.

You get what you pay for - this one is the best!
Finally! After attempting to receive several truck bed extenders and having many issues with shipping to Hawaii, I finally found this product that was high quality and could be delivered outside the contiguous United States. I use it to transport my 15' kayak in the back of my Nissan Titan pickup. The fit of the upper part was a little snug on the piece extending out from the trailer hitch receiver. I think the powder coat was laid on a little thick at the factory because I had to partially install it, and then bang the hole unit on the ground in order for it to slip down so that I could engage the pin. If I ever have to change the length of the extension, that will be very difficult. However, since I only use this for one purpose, it works well. I read reviews of other products before getting this one, and they were saying it was made of cheap material that was easily bent. This one, however, is very well made, heavy duty, and seems like it will take years of abuse. Spend a little extra money for this one instead of the $70 you will find elsewhere on Amazon. It comes with a red flag, which I mount on the carrying handle of the kayak. The reflective tape add a little more safety, and the angled uprise section means that I don't drag the back on steep inclines. Again, very well made product (except slight fit issues), and I would highly recommend getting this one instead of the sub-$100 models.

Very Nice Product and Excellent Price
Very nice product. I would have given it a 5 star except the tubs have a little more play in them than I'd like. But then I do not know how much is needed in order to get the pieces to slide together. I only hooked it up to the truck to see how it went together and did not need the instructions because it very easy to figure out. Judging by how heavy it is I am confident it is plenty strong enough to get my lumber home from the lumber yard. I have a 6.6 foot short bed and when fully extended 12 foot planks will stick out (I'm guessing) about 6-8 inches past the end so 12 footers will be nice and secure to haul. But the reason I got it is because I need to haul 16 foot boards also and the rack will handle them nicely. I showed it to my neighbor who is a carpenter when I had it hooked to the truck and he ordered one a few hours later because he also has a short bed. truck. - Don't forget to order a hitch pin if you do not have one because one does not come with it. I used the extender for the first time so I added some images to the review. My bed is 6' 4". When the tailgate is down I have 8' 3.5" These images show 8, 5/4 x 12' decking boards and 8, 5/4 x 8' decking boards. The boards are stacked 4 side by side. This thing worked great! It's nice to be able to secure long boards using a short bed truck now. Although the tubes have a little play in them the unit was solid with the lumber sitting on it so I'm changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

Great Product - watch out for packaging
Honestly this is a great bed extender and takes less than 5 minutes to install. Its adjustable and works great - I haul 2 twelve foot Kayaks with it on my 5' bed. Be careful when you get it shipped as the primary coupling bar that goes into the hitch receiver is packaged vertically on the left side and is not fixed in place so it can slide up and down during shipping. This creates a battering ram like effect that breaks through the top of the box. My first one arrived with a taped up hole in the box and missing the part. The replacement unit (thanks Amazon) came with the same part of the boxed ripped up, but the bar was still in there. Minus 1 star for the packaging only - the unit is sturdy and well worth the cost.

But I'm really glad I bought this one
I looked at several extenders....most of them less $$$ than this one. But I'm really glad I bought this one. My deciding factor was looking at the shipping weight. This was heavier, so I figured it would be move heavy duty. It is built like a beast. I like over-engineering when it comes to carrying things that could fly out the back. It would be difficult to pick up the whole assembly....but you don't have to because it comes apart in 3 pieces. I am using it with a 2016 Toyota Tundra with 5.5' bed....and a Hobie Pro Angler 12. I have the bottom extension in about the 3rd-4th pin hole...and the upper extension in the about the 5th hole. So lots of room for expansion. I extend the side arms when loading the kayak, but push them all the way in after loading. Fits just right. I have added a piece of swim noodle to the side arms....and some marine carpet to the top crossbar....to slide the kayak on. I use Malone straps from Amazon to go from the 2 eyes at the top of the side arms. The red flag works great. The only thing I saw wrong was the red reflective stickers really were not stuck on well....and sections of them lift off.

Sturdy and heavy - good product and was easy to assemble. Kayaks locked in really well via a bungee to the truck bed tie downs.

Works really well. I needed some way to transport a 14.5' kayak in the bed of my short box Titan. The rack is solidly built and it fits securely in the truck's trailer hitch receptacle. Very adjustable. I would recommend getting a couple of pool noodles to cover the arms of the rack so the bare steel does not scratch your boat.

Heavy duty bed extender for boats and boards- works well. Versatile in that it can be used in a vertical position to span from roof to rack or in horizontal position as a bed extender. Heavy duty construction

I purchased this last year to add to the back of my truck for two Kayaks, a 12 foot and a 14 foot. Only used it a few times but it works just as advertised. My one suggestion would b for the manufacturer to add in some sort of padding you can put on and off the posts.

Easy to use easy to set up. Did research very happy with the details put into this unit. Carries lots of weight and many holes for adjusting. Great purchase wish I had done it before damaged my tailgate.
