4 cores with a very slightly lower clock speed as apposed to 1 and is about half the price on amazon at least from what ive seen. If you are using PoE the ac2 only has in as apposed to in and out. Q: Can I instal an open vpn to ?

Be careful about OpenVPN. The Mikrotik implementation only does TCP, does not support LZO compression or certificate auth and is generally not great to work with. To get UDP support, you need to go to the v7 Beta version of RouterOS, but even then it's pain to get working. If you're set on OpenVPN, this probably isn't the router for you, although it is excellent at other aspects of routing and switching.
