Review: A Must-Have for Every Coin Collector! - I recently purchased the “A Guide Book of United States Coins 2025 ‘Redbook’ Large Print” and I must say, it’s an absolute treasure for any coin collector. The large print edition is a delight, making it easy to read and understand. The book covers a wide range of topics, from foreign coins used in the British American colonies in the 1600s and 1700s, to early copper colonial tokens, to popular classics like Buffalo nickels, hefty silver dollars, and beautiful gold coins. It provides grade-by-grade values, history, detailed specifications, sharp full-color photographs, accurate mintage data, auction records, and other valuable information1. The book answers questions like, “What is this old coin?” or “How rare are my coins?” and “How much is my coin worth?”. A definite must for any beginner
This is what got me into coin collecting on a whole nother level I had no idea that they were so many different US coins other than the everyday currency I really liked that Not only was there a ton of information about coins of all different denominations but detailed photos of what to look for mint mark locations how many were minted which ones are rare and a general idea of a coins value and how to get a general grade of the coin even though the prices in this are not current I still often go to this book first versus the 2026 version the formatting is so much better and I will say somehow more durable as well I highly recommend this book for beginners or semi-seasoned collectors like myself just make sure you do your research because the coin shops and eBay ruin the value of coins coin shops will scalp you and ebay helps the the price is in this book are a general reference for collectors value but not updated to current prices if the coins are made of precious metal but absolutely great reference for learning
