Easy to install with simple hand tools if you have basic mechanical/electrical skills. Instructions easy to follow. Took a little time getting the open/close force set. Easy to connect to WiFi and pair to vehicles. Very quiet and operates smoothly. Highly recommended.

I needed to get a new unit since there seemed to be something wrong with the original Genie overhead screw type unit. It's been 17 years in service, so it lived a good, well-serviced life. Even with regular maintenance it finally gave it up. Wanted to clean up the look and decided that although the jackshaft unit was more expensive, I loved the idea that it could be hooked into the home wireless system, as well as having an auto close feature. It's a beefy unit and the emergency battery backup in case of a power loss is a nice added plus. Biggest plus in my opinion is the fact that it's MUCH quieter than the Genie screw drive, and it wasn't all that noisy. Sometimes the dog doesn't even realize when the door opens. With the old unit, anyone in the house could hear the door open. Instructions were simple enough to follow. Once familiarized with what goes where, installation was fairly easy and straightforward. It helps to be a bit mechanically inclined, but there's also plenty of Youtube videos you can watch to get the hang of how to install. I took my time and carefully installed and double checked my work as I went. Took me a day and a half, including removing the old system. Now the area above the garage door is neater and nothing hanging down in the center between the cars. The LED light is now taking the place of where the old unit was, and love the added adjustable features of this unit. Auto time to close, auto sensing LED light comes on hands free and with timed auto shutoff once you leave the area. With the iPhone or Android app, you can operate the unit with your phone, and I added a video camera as well to be able to see what's going on inside the garage any time I want. I can also check the open/close log to see when/if the door was open or closed while away. Oh, and another neat idea was the closing lock pin that automatically latches and opens when the door is operated, locking the travel to less than a foot once closed in case someone tries to manually pull the door open. A huge step up technologically from the old style. It's been almost 3 months since I installed it and we're pleased as punch. A bit pricey? Yes. Worth it? Oh, heck yes!

What a great product! Install went smooth and the door opener works flawlessly. Just follow step by step and you wont have any problems. The hardest part was removing all the old junk and running the new wiring. I am super impressed and will be buying 2 more units for the other doors! I find that nowadays everything you buy is junk, but you get what you pay for-this is a quality product! Good job liftmaster!

I installed this almost a year ago. I love how quiet and smooth it is. It was worked flawlessly. The battery backup is an awesome feature for when the power is out during a storm. The myQ app is awesome and lets you close or open the door from anywhere.

I installed this on a 14 x 12 insulated door. Following the instructions the install is pretty straightforward, in fact easier that a traditional trolly type opener. I did run into some issues though. After the install when I went to program the unit for operation it would only run for a second or two and shut off. I found the emergency release pull cord was stuck in the released position. I could not get in to engage the opener. I removed the opener and got it to engage on the bench. Not too big of a deal unless you are on a ladder 14 feet high! I programmed the opener travel limits per the instructions and it works great. Super quiet in operation. There is an issue where the logic board indicator lights don't match the manual. The battery charging light is listed in the manual as being on the left. That light is off on mine. There is another light on the right of the board that is flashing green indicating my battery is charging. I confirmed 14 volts to the battery and this light should turn solid when the battery is fully charged. I found the correct light info on the web. Many nice features on this opener. You can open and close the door from anywhere with your smartphone as long as you have home wifi. You can get alerts on your phone anytime your door opens or closes. This feature works on my detached garage approximately 200 feet from my router. It comes with a nice led light that you simply plug into an outlet anywhere in the garage. The wall control has time and temp readings. Now for my biggest pet peeve, there are no cable staples or clips included. You have to run cables for the door sensors, the wall control, the door lock and the cable tensioner so why these aren't included is beyond me. You will need to purchase these for the install. If not for these issues I would give this opener 10 stars. I will never go back to a traditional opener again.

This thing is great, works like a dream and is a huge upgrade from my old overhead opener. Install was a breeze, besides having to run some new wires since my old opener was is a different location. If you are on the fence about replace your old garage door opener, let this review be the reason you decide to go for it! Practically silent, allows you to use your phone to open and close the door remotely, the “deadbolt” lock feature is quite nice. All in all, very happy with the purchase, as other reviews say, it is on the pricier side, but to me it’s been well worth the money with the added convenience and security.
