This is an amazing book that helped me so much regain my identity as a women.

I first came across Lisa Bevere through a rabbit hole sort approach. Her husband came to speak at my church, Victory, in Tulsa, and I discovered she has a whole ministry as well. I would high recommend this book as the topics resonate for women, but also, this book serves for very interesting talking points to help discover our own ideals including assumptions of what we are expected to be according to society. Lisa, with support of scripture, analyzes many societal norms that we as women endure and how we as women can overcome those expectations through Christ love and connection to one self.

This is the book that my younger self was desperately searching for when I used to comb through the shelves of feminist literature for solutions to the problems of growing up girl. All of those books parroted the problems, but this one effectively demonstrates that God is the solution. Men are not the enemy, Satan is. God created women second, not second class. Jesus redeemed both men and women through His sacrifice, and we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to go forth and set captives free from bondage. In addition to refuting the blatant lies of the enemy from cultures past and present with scriptural truth, Lisa reveals the true nature behind many of the feminist ideologies and slogans so many of us adopted, thinking that we were rescuing ourselves, when in reality, we were making agreements with the dragon who has nothing but enmity for us. The discussion questions at the end of each chapter are great jumping off points for you to strategize how you can pray and practice God's will for men and women. Femininity is not weak and masculinity is not toxic. They are expressions of God's divine nature entrusted to us so that we may reflect the many facets of His glory as His image bearers and flourish together in our strengths.
