Q: Do they expire or go bad?

There is no expiration date on the heaters. We have used heaters that were 15 years old and they worked great! As long as the heating element is kept dry, it should work even in 10-15 years.

Q: Are the bags you sell dated so that they are sure to work? I have used old bags and sometimes they do not heat up at all.

Hi and thank you for the question! The dimensions are 0.25" x 12" x 5.75". If you want to make a cup of coffee using these heaters, you should use them with a MRE Beverage Bags that would go inside of a heater and protect your beverage from the heating elements.

Hi and thank you for the question! There are several sellers selling this product, so we cannot vouch for everyone. However, we at MREdepot, sell the original FRH heaters, not commercial ones. The heating element weighs 22 g. These are the same green heaters that come in an MRE meal (NSN 8970-01-321-9153).
