Pentair 262506 1-1/2- Inch 6-Way Clamp Style Valve Replacement Pool and Spa Sand Filter

Our pool is about 9 years old and the old valve finally broke so we had to buy a new one. Works perfectly. Fits like it should.

After 15 years, I managed to break my pool pump filter valve housing while tightening a new pressure gauge. Quite frankly, it was on its way out anyway, making a rattling noise constantly, and resisting changing the filter settings. So not really my fault, my Dear. But I digress. No amount of silicone would seal the crack in the old valve housing. So unless I wanted to replace my sand filter (open your wallet), I needed an exact replacement for the Pentair 6 way valve that I bought so many years ago. Could I find one? Was it obsolete? Would I need a complete new sand filter? This is an exact replacement. Although the original did not have a model number on it, I had the installation paperwork that identified my filter valve - and this one is it - what a relief... Plumbed it in yesterday (used unions this time so I can refresh my filter sand without cutting any PVC pipe) and it's working just perfectly. I used Plasto-Joint Stik for the tapered threaded joints - no leaks whatsoever So if you need to replace your Pentair 262506 - here it is P.S. my valve came with a pressure gauge and an O-ring - if you're encouraged to order these separately, it's probably not necessary...

So I fired up the pool this year, had a broken spring in the valve, label was hardly readable, site glass was leaking, gauge quit working, etc. I was ready to order all of the replacement parts when I fired up the pump and realized my current valve was leaking. Did some quick math and realized that for just about the same money as those replacement parts I could have a new valve. So I ordered this, it arrived in two days, installed in 5 minutes and I was back in business with no leaks. I decided to keep the old valve in case I need parts down the road. This is the exact replacement for my Sand Dollar filter. I did read another review about draining the sand filter prior to install, and I think that made all of the difference for my valve replacement activities.

Description did NOT indicate that the valve assembly included the 1 1/2" Clamp Assembly so I had purchased it separately. Amazon will allow me to return the clamp without having to pay return shipping fee. Also, the valve came with a regulator and it does include a sight glass. The description should be updated so that other potential buyers will see this information. Some of the Q and A had different answers as to what is included. Also, the 1 star installation rating is due to the fact that the instructions DO NOT give any helpful advice about keeping the proper seating of the pipe holding the laterals when replacing the valve. Hopefully, our DYI error might be of use to another pool owner. Hubby did NOT drain the water in the pump before removing the old valve. As a result, when he tried to remove the valve, the pipe holding the laterals rose up from the floor of the pump and the new valve could not be connected as it was no longer seated properly. We had to vacuum all the sand out of the tank to reset the pipe and then connect the valve. Hubby, in retrospect, said he should have drained the water from the pump tank and that would have stopped the pipe from lifting up! No trip to the beach playing with all that sand! Pump installed yesterday and running perfectly! Shout out to Positive Pool Wholesale (shipper) - I ordered from them for a slightly higher price as they indicated the fastest delivery of all shippers. Within an hour or so of placing my order, the item had already shipped and was received within three days!

This worked great replacing the old cracked unit. I 1st tried a less expensive/generic version & was totally frustrated with lots of leaks. The Pentair was so easy to replace, no leaks, works as it should!!

Arrived in just a couple days FAST. Perfect fit direct replacement easy install. We would buy again.

My original pentair 272526 valve adjustor was worn out and leaking so I needed a replacement I came across this one 262506 and was worried it wouldn’t be an accurate fit since the numbers didn’t match . But nope not the case this number replaces a multiple of part numbers and mine is one of them so if your looking to replace the same pentair part number as my old one then this is the right product for u. It came as pictured and works great no more leaks for me and it has a great price point. Cheapest one I could find online.
