HDDs in 2025!? Heck yeah! While not particularly as fast as modern SSDs in random access, the performance is still great for old SATA interface. In linux I disable my swap, but Windows just doesn't work without some swap file, and I'm not going to swap to my main SSD. Thankfully my laptop can boot from mSATA and still has a 2.5" low profile SATA drive slot, where this WD 2T neatly fits. 2T of storage is greatly appreciated in a portable to store all my files on the go where there's no cheap internet access, while also great to direct swap, all logs, and other write-intensive files to the HDD to keep writes low for my old boot SSD. I'm really thankful that WD still keeps making HDDs for these kinds of uses.

I got this for my Eufy home base 3 security system and it was really easy to install and offers a ton of storage space. I don't have to worry about going through and regularly deleting stored videos with this amount of storage. its also a pretty affordable option. haven't had any issues with it a year later

So far, working perfectly in my eufy security cameras. Be aware, the mounting screws are not included.

Was simple plug and play

I used this to replace a toshi hybrid 500g drive. It cloned to perfection and I rebooted. The reboot on a win10 lp took about 20 min. I had done this procedure before and it took less time before. After quite a while the hdd light stopped flashing nad I decided to check the drive with win 10 tools. Scandisk found errors so I let it go through the correction phase and after many hours it ended and rebooted to the normal desktop. I checked and win reported no more drive errors. I checked it against another drive and performance numbers were ok. My 4 star rating comes from the win10 bootup time. It is horrendous. 15 min is too long to wait for the hdd light to finally clear on my laptop. BUT after tlight clears it is the most silent hard drive I have ever had. No accesses for hours of web surfing. Truly a twilight zone conundrum. I give the 4 stars because of the slow boot but once it finishes this drive is a freak of silence and performance.

Great product works as described in ad and easy to use. Well built design and good quality and easy to install. The price was a good value and fast shipped.

I bought this for my Eufy Homebase 3. It works great so far. Here are some things to keep in mind. The hard drive comes with multiple partitions. As a result, the Eufy app wasn't able to format the hard drive properly. I had to connect the hard drive to my PC and format it with the Disk Management tool (Win+X > Disk Management). Delete each volume until the entire hard drive shows as Unallocated. Create a new simple volume (NTFS). Allow it to be assigned a drive letter. I named the drive "Eufy". I then installed it in the Homebase (be sure to unplug it first) and then used the app to format it. It wasn't successful on the first try but it worked on the second try.

It’s an excellent choice for storing my security footage. It’s a worthwhile investment, and the loading speed is incredibly fast.

I have have been using WD external storage drive which easily swayed me to choose it for internal storage as well. The performance is good and optimal read/write operation speed

Before installing and replacing my old hard drive with this one, I ran some tests. The hard drive is truly new and in perfect condition, no cosmetic and no internal damage was pressent when it came. I ran a speed test and it was quite a good speed for a hard drive. The noise level is very low, the hard drive can be very slightly heard when it is on heavy load. I am very happy with this product since no faults have occurred so far and the quality it came in. I did try to register the warranty for this product on Western Digital official website but it said that the product was already registered but I wouldn't worry about that because I believe it's due to the fact that Amazon takes care of any problems relating the warranty. I do recommend to buy this hard drive.

Tot zover (eergisteren in een oude laptop geinstalleerd) kan ik zeggen dat dit een goed werkende harde schijf is, die prima te installeren is. Oude drive eruit halen, de Western Digital Wd10Spzx Mobile er in steken, in het geval van de laptop waar ik de drive in installeerde, het ingebouwde drive-frame terug klikken en met vier schroefjes aan de drive bevestigen zodat er geen speling meer is (want deze drive is iets dunner dan de oude drive), bodemplaat van de laptop terug plaatsen, en klaar.

Works perfectly, and great value for money as I've found with all Crucial products, as I have 2 Crucial SSD's, and another Crucial NvME SSD drive. No noise whatsoever, being an SSD. Just install, partition, and you're good to go

WD20SPZX Shingle Magnetic Recording (SMR, per "impaccare" quanti più dati possibili nel risicato spazio disponibile sui platters), velocità accettabile, prestazioni di certo non ideali per un disco di sistema da cui avviare Windows o Linux; di questo taglio non si trova comunque altro che gli SSD ma a ben altri prezzi. Incredibilmente, dopo una serie di dischi arrivati male imballati, magari in buste di cartone, questo si è presentato avvolto in un foglio di pluriball ed in una elegane scatolina Amazon con tanto di fogli accartocciati per ridurre gli scuotimenti: complimenti finalmente ad Amazon per l'imballo di parti delicate! Per ora sembra funzionare regolarmente, silenzioso, vibrazioni pressoché impercettibili, non scalda molto - soprattutto in standby :) - consuma max 1.7W durante la scrittura; va comunque installato in posizione sufficientemente ventilata e, se utilizzato in un box esterno, da preferire sulla plastica quelli in alluminio come l'AHD1 (Tacens Anima) od il TQE-2524B (TooQ). Cercherò di tenerlo più al fresco possibile, estati roventi permettendo, speriamo che duri...
