A very well built reel.
A great reel all round. Everything is super smooth and frictionless. The power is strong and will have no issues with pulling fish. The drag system is pretty nice and definitely top notch. My only issue is that there is no antireverse switch but that just means that this reel has one less room for failure.

My son loves this, I bought it for his birthday! He says it's great quality & he can't believe I didn't pay more for it. He's almost 18 & totally nerds out on fishing with his friends, so he knows what he's talking about lol

Es pequeño para ser un 5000, lo cual es fantástico. Se lo ve fuerte. Esperaba una mejor "chicharra" (sonido del freno) no es fuerte. Lindo carrete, espero usarlo pronto.

Stick to the original BG reels and these are cheaper but not worth it!
Looked like a good deal but you are better off buying the regular BG because these are made with cheaper components and does not feel the same and not worth saving a few bucks!

The new 23 bg sw is half the size as the old bg 4000. Unbelievable size and weight difference 1 less bearing under the spool old bg was 7 now 6,they have removed the bearing under the spool and the spool no longer has the braid ready rubber, mono backup fixes that though.overall very happy with the 23 model. In hand the 400 0 cxh feels like a 2500. Flick all day no probs. If you're after a entry level reel there great
