This is the best laptop that i have ever owned
This is the best laptop that i have ever owned. I wanted an ultra book and was looking at and comparing different laptops. I purchased the latest dell xps 13 becuase reviewers said that it was the best utlra book. It was very nice with great build quality but the battery life was terrible. The battery on the xps only lasted 6 hours, so i returned it after having it for 5 days. I also tried the macbook pro 13 which was way overpriced and couldnt provide me with the specs i wanted because i wanted to have at least 2tb of ssd storage. I had an alienware 13 which was great but was too bulky and heavy and the battery only lasted 1.5 hours. I decided to get this one the lg gram and it is awsome. i bought the one with the 256gb ssd and 8gb of ram. I replaced the 256ssd with a 1tb ssd and added a second 1tb ssd on the second slot. I also added 16gb of ram for a total of 24gb of ram. This laptop is great. It has a beautiful screen, the build quality is also great, i dont think that it is flimsy at all, that was a concern, but it is very well built. It is super light weight and the battery lasts 10hours. This is the laptop that i have been waiting for, it is great!!!!!

Recommend 10/10 for anyone who (like me) doesn't use tablet ...
Insanely addictive due to the battery life, light weight, huge 15.6 inch screen (somehow) squeezed onto a 14 inch frame, and keyboard that rivals Lenovo (save the minuscule sized Enter key). Recommend 10/10 for anyone who (like me) doesn't use tablet mode but logs a lot of hours and likes a bigger screen. Magnesium polymer material of the frame is a game changer-- some might say it feels plasticky but it is hard as sh*t so I would say it does not. While it can take a beating, every single time will result in a small scratch to the frame-- due to the matte material it is not noticeable, do you won't care unless you are bigtime OCD. Unit is blazing fast out of the box with the new 2018 i7 processors. 8 GB RAM upgrade (to get to 16 gb total) is necessary on the base i7/8gb/256 model I purchased for someone who runs 7 to 10 apps at a time like I do, but it's cheap ($80) and easy as any hardware install ever- excellent product design. I hope to be lucky enough to use this unit for a long time. LG makes $(#&ing laptops.

DON'T BUY; Specs not as advertised
LG advertises this as having the capability of 1Gbps (1000MBps) hard wired internet connection through an USB-C adapter (supplied by LG in the box). The current hardware driver does not support 1 GBps connection. After numerous calls to LG support (hours on the phone) they say that the computer 'must be broken', 'send it in for repair.' The next agent says, ' this computer not capable of those speeds; specs are wrong' All this computer needs is a correct driver for the Realtek Ethernet connector but LG wont help find the driver and they told me it may take up to ONE (1) YEAR to get a call back from their engineering. You read it right; 1 YEAR! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

Laptop kept on showing BSOD
Pros: --It's the only 15 inch laptop to be less than 3 pounds. I loved the big screen, and how thin and light it was. --The keyboard feels really nice. It has good key travel and I felt like my typing was more accurate while using it. --I liked that it was touchscreen Cons: --I use my laptop for coding. However, whenever I opened Android Studio on my laptop (a pretty heavy program), the computer would blue screen and then reboot. This became a deal breaker and I had to return it. My personal theory is that because it's so light (I think it only has 1 fan), it can't manage heat well. Since I was running an intensive program, the machine couldn't deal with it and had to reboot. --Any kind of heavy use (including having multiple windows/programs open) would cause the keyboard to heat up and the fans to start. --the trackpad is centered to the laptop. Since the laptop has a number pad in addition to the typical keyboard layout, this means that trackpad is off center with regards to the space bar and the keyboard --the screen is really shiny and reflective. Using the touchscreen was also not very smooth, and I ended buying a matte screen protector to reduce reflectiveness and protect the screen against fingerprints/make the touchscreen a better experience. --the aluminum finish feels plastic-y and cheap. Because the laptop is so light, the hinge/screen is a bit flimsy. This laptop is something you should treat well TL;DR if you only do light work on a laptop, then look into this further. But look elsewhere if you do anything remotely intensive.

Love the laptop, hate Windows 10
The laptop is great, very light weight and very durable, military spec. Tried to install Windows 7, but Microsoft would not permit me to install it. SO, I installed Linux Mint, Cinnamon 19.1. It installed without a hitch, it is very fast and works very well. The laptop with Windows 10 included a lot of bloatware which is normal with Windows machines. I am a user of 2 Mac computers, 2 Linux computers, and a Windows 7 laptop, so I do use all three systems regularly. If you like Windows 10 and can remove the bloatware it should be good if you add more memory as Windows 10 will work better with more memory. Battery life is very good once you turn off what you don't need and use some of the battery saver options. You may need to buy an adapter to use headphones and a mic if you don't have one of the new ones. I had to as my headphones and mic use the 1/8" plugs.
