Love these templates!
Gave only 4 stars because there are no pictures or instructions. I had to print the pictures from the listing to store with the templates so I would know what the finished product would look like.

Great Free Motion Quilt Rulers
I've used several Kapyoo templates in the past and these are a great addition to my collection. This set includes three different swirl designs, all of which look great when sewn. I noticed that one had to be flipped in order to make the complete design. There are instructions on the Kapyoo store showing how to make each design and when things need to be flipped or rotated. I do wish they had included these instructions with the rulers, but they were easy enough to print and store with the rulers for future reference. I started with a basic white fabric scrap to get an idea of the overall design each ruler would create. I included a picture of each finished product as well as a brief video showing how I used one of the rulers. Prior to using each ruler I added several non-slip grip dots that are included in the pack. This insured the ruler did not slide out of place while I was sewing. I found it most helpful to use a ruler foot on my machine when sewing with these templates. The ruler foot is much thicker than a standard free-motion quilting foot, enabling it to glide along the grooves in the template. I was concerned that a standard free-motion foot would slide under the ruler rather than staying within the groove. I attached a picture showing the difference between the two feet. The one on the right is a ruler foot and the one on the left is a free-motion foot. You can see how much thicker the ruler foot is. For me, this worked very well.

nice pattern. Makes quilting easy
I've never used something like this, so not sure I was doing it right. It does not come with instructions, but it does come with some rubberized traction pieces that can stick to the pattern. I tried to just sew with it on there, but it's not really possible, at least with my machine. First, it is pretty thick for putting the foot up and second when I go to make a turn, the pattern hits the main part of my sewing machine. So...I'm thinking it would just be better to lay out the quilt, and outline the pattern in chalk and then follow that. I'm not downgrading my rating, though, because I think this is just a learning curve for me and it does seem like a pretty good quality pattern. It would have been nice if it had come with some instructions/ideas. They certainly took the time to make a really good product description, so just including some of that info with the product would have been nice.

doesn’t work well
the grove that the ruler foot goes in is bigger than the ruler foot so you have to make sure you stay to one side, and figure out how to transition from one coil to the next. when you have to back track you get a second line is stitches if you don’t take care to match position! not what free motion quilting should look like! looks messy with double stitch lines!
