MY LITTLE PONY THE MOVIE brings the Mane Six to the big screen for their most exciting and spectacular adventure yet! When the menacing Storm King invades Canterlot with plans to steal the magic from the ponies, the very future of Equestria is at stake. In never before seen adventures, the ponies will embark on an action packed heroic journey that takes them beyond the borders of their homes for the first time ever in search for help across magical mountains, undersea worlds, and even a swashbuckling flying pirate ship. Review: Great fun for little girls. - This is the first time I have watched an MLP film from start to finish, I was not looking forward to it at all, but I'd promised, and you can't make promises and not keep them, especially where children are concerned. as I got into the film and started to relax into it rather than resist and watch under duresse, it was actually, quite interesting to get to know the ponies' traits and , as ever, there's always a moral and 'triumph over evil' that characterizes these things, even if in the most annoying American accents. But hey, the music was good, the story line was (sort of) followable .... and my daughter loved it. And there's an amazing song by Sia at the end ... worth buying just to hear that. :) Review: Great for My Little Pony Lovers - This is a must for My Little Pony fans. It was a treat for my granddaughter ( 4years old) and we turned the living room into a cinema with "reserved" seat notices and pizza and popcorn for the interval. We rarely watch films and the movie is quite long at 90 minutes but there's plenty of action and a good story line. The "bad guys" are a bit scary to start with but fine to watch with a grown up for reassurance that the ponies will win the day at the end. Just as the My Little Ponies are bright and colourful,so is the film with endearing pony characters and the feelgood happy ending winds up a real treat. I would recommend it.

which was dull. However on the plus side
We saw this twice at the cinema before and have watched the DVD a few times. Although our little girl (and us!) are big ponies fans, initially we weren't that impressed with the film but it has grown on us. The weaknesses are to do with it introducing two new groups of characters (pirates and sea ponies) as well as the obligatory new villain. This was presumably to sell toys, and stretched the plot a bit too far. Also the first few minutes are spent introducing the 'mane 6' characters, which was dull. However on the plus side, the new characters are designed, written and acted well enough to be worth the time they spend onscreen, and there are some brilliant ideas in amongst it all. In particular, I liked that the Storm King isn't evil so much as very, very amoral - there is a part where he gets the power to raise and lower the sun and the moon, and his mind goes from "day-night-day-night" to "Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday": the working week. The sidekick Tempest Shadow is a brave portrayal of disability for a kid's cartoon, I'm not sure it would tick all the current 'social justice' boxes, but gotta give them some credit. The songs are excellent, there are better ones in the series, but we bought the CD. It is a bit short on jokes to amuse the adults, and a bit shiny-happy-la-la-la to not need to - but that's a small price to pay for knowing the kids are being entertained (and without being brainwashed, Hasbro are happy if they sell some toys, whereas certain other firms with virtual monopolies big-budget children's movies are really pushing agendas now).

Beautiful film, cheerful and just really good fun
Beautiful film, cheerful and just really good fun! It comes with a handful of extras I wasn't expecting and I loved them! Behind the scenes, deleted scene, interviews with the voice actors, ect. Only the adverts are a bit annoying but you can just skip them so it's not a big deal.
