Free UK delivery on eligible orders. Review: Required reading - Required reading in a world stage that keeps getting increasingly alienated from morality and God Review: Another on of Kant's key texts - This is possibly Kant's easiest book to read, and this edition is an excellent translation with a good introduction. However, its still got some knotty and complex thinking to go through, and as is typical for Kant some odd bits of vocabulary which take a little getting used to. But if you are interested in moral philosophy it must be a key text, as it introduces all the key aspects of Kant's moral philosophy. You do not have to agree with all of Kant's thinking to still find him a brilliant thinker.

Kant's masterpiece
The Cambridge Kant edition is second to none. And it's the most outstanding short work of moral philosophy ever written.

Problem with text
Just to let you know that the reason I returned this text is that virtually a whole page was missing from Kant"s preface to the text. The text in that place made no sense in that location.

Lastig boek. Moeilijke taal. Moeilijk onderwerpen. Zeer zwaar. Niet voor kinderen. Over God en religie en reden: en de wil.

It's been 3 months since I had to read this book for a class, and I found myself referencing it just last night! Kant is remarkable and this book equips one with the tools to answer fundamental questions about morals. As for the translation, I can't say that I have anything with which it may be compared. I neither speak German nor have I read an alternative translation per sé. I can only say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and that it has impacted my mentality to a profound degree.

A very good introduction to Immanuel Kant. Honestly, I read and reread sections several times to understand (as much as possible!) Kant is worth the effort. I do recommend reading this with a commentary, such as Jen Timmerman's "Kant's Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals: A Commentary." There is so much that is good in the Groundwork and a commentary will help the reader get so much more.
