ghd Platinum+ Styler - Professional Smart Hair Straighteners, Wishbone Hinge, Ultra Gloss Plates

I bought this for my wife recently as her original GHD Platinum+ styler has finally given up the ghost after many years of regular use. The GHD Platinum+ was the styler recommended by her hairdresser many years ago, and he is still recommending it to this day! I think this shows how well-regarded they are in top-level, professional hairdressing circles. This version came with a variety of extras such as a brush, some hair styling spray and a neat heat-resistant bag to hold it all in. The Bodyguard hair spray is used to keep the hair safe from damage due to heat, and the All Rounder Paddle Brush is the perfect companion for brushing the hair into smooth, glossy styles. Despite its expensive price, I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this styler to anyone with discerning taste and a desire to own such a professional piece of kit.

I was always getting the original classic GHDs when I was ready for a new pair, so I was dubious to try a different set. These are fab though, so I'm so pleased. Tried them out at a GHD stand at a department store, and talked through the options. These are better for regular use on hair, as not as damaging to your hair. My worry was the grip on the hair, but these are perfect. Grip my hair well, easy to hold and use. I like to curl my hair with straighteners, and these are even better than my previous ones as they have a curved design so easier to manoeuvre and get those curls.

I have been using ghd original straightener since 2008, which is still brilliant device and makes wonders on my hair. I got this ghd platinum iron as a treat for myself, it leaves my thick hair shiny and super smooth, curling is also very easy and long lasting. Brush is great and does not damage my hair, the bag is super stylish and not bulky at all, keeps everything organized ❤️

Very easy to operate, I never burnt my hand while handling the straighteners like it does with other straighteners. my hair is shoulder length, so I have no problems with snagging. if I go 2 days without washing my hair, and my hair is still clean, I find that using the straighteners on second day of unwashed hair that it makes my hair greasy, so it is best to wash and dry your hair on the day you use the straighteners. I was tempted to purchase the Duet GHD straighteners, but unsure if Duet has the same technology as the GHD Platinum Plus, it is important to have the best technology for your hair.

She loves them, miles better than her previous straighteners. Heats up fast and she likes the results of using them.

Whilst the quality of these is just as expected, I found something of a snag that never did expect and it’s than when I use it to curl, which is designed to do as well as straightening, the borders pulled my hair out. Not sure if only mine has a poor finish as I never heard this before. Otherwise I do notice my hair is healthy and shiny after using it and lasts a lot longer than I’m used to for my thick unruly hair.

I bought my first ghd straightener 20 years ago (original ghd Max) still working as new, and i use it very often....but i wanted to treat myself and try smaller size and new technology.... I LOVE It, is not the cheapest brand, but is worth It....i'm using the original for 20 years...my hair looks lovely and healthy...

No nipping of hair. Smooths hair and glides so easily. Less heat damage than my two previous straighteners.
