CURT 22430 Black Steel Tow Hook, 10,000 lbs Capacity

Perfect fit for my FJ40. Heavy duty and looks good.

OK I know it's not for a riding mower and is very over rated for my use. I bolted this to the hole in the back of my riding mower where a bagger attachment would sit. I'm disabled and the garbage collection can is one of those huge ones that get picked up by a mechanical arm, the can can be heavy sometimes. I strap the garbage can lid closed with a bungie cord and tip the can onto the tow hook and use the riding mower to tow the garbage can out to the street that's about 100 feet away from my house. Also it works for dragging yard brush and tree trimmings up to my burn pile and to tow around my 4 X 6 foot trailer I use in my yard when I'm doing yard work.Works great for what I need it for. On my old riding mower I used an ATV 2" receiver that I placed a tow ball extender into but on this riding mower it was too heavy and caused the mower flange to flex. This tow hook is much lighter then my old setup and will even grab the tow ball receiver on the trailer to tow it around my yard.

Think steel, will last.

I had to remove one of my stock tow hooks on my 2005 z71 so I can access winch controls. I was going to leave just one, but my adhd got the better of me and the search was on. I settled on these and was thrilled at the price, not a high risk purchase, bonus if they fit. Unbelievably they fit perfectly. They are not, obviously, made for this spot, but they fit and I am able to fit my arm through as well to access my controls. They actually look better than the stock hooks and the rating has to be higher at 10k per hook. Win, win.

The Hook that arrived was not flat on the top, and more important the bottom mounting surface. The parting lines from manufacturing stick above the surfaces by 1/16 inch.

Used two of these to attach to the bottom runners on a 12 x 16 shed which then allows me to tow it around the property where it is needed. Used nuts and bolts to attach to runners.

Nice product, works as it should.
