A Cookbook which is easy to follow, beautifully put together; bright photographs and colourful illustrations with her 'Tips' under each recipe including a breakdown of Calories/Fats/Protein and Carbs per portion. Super guide to the Ketogenic (low Carb) way of cooking, with suggestions of essential tools; utensils to help you, along with her personal choice of books she chose to help her on her way at the start of her journey. For beginners this is a great book. It is American, so for the European market one just has to look up certain food products and translate them, and convert American 'Cups' into Metric ( I looked it up on the web). All in all, I have found her journey really inspiring and think this is one of the best presented books on this extraordinary way of eating.. who would ever have thought eating fat encourages weight loss.. Well it does. Very much looking forward to her next book.

Great illustrated book
Great illustrated book. It's a good start to learning this way of eating. Would recommend this book to everyone. Arrived really quickly. Food menus are easy and really tasty.

Beautifully presented book
I’m delighted with this book, beautifully presented, easy read, tells me everything I need to know as a beginner and the recipes are foods I recognise and am happy to eat - it’s not “out there” with crazy stuff most of us wouldn’t touch! Definitely recommend this.

I didn't really need to hear how great she is
I appreciated reading about Suzanne Ryan's early struggles with weight loss, as she was brutally honest about her struggles, and didn't offer any excuses as to why she gained so much weight, but it was just inferred that she had a difficult childhood, which contributed to this. What I was not so keen on was the inclusion of sugary-sickly 'reviews' from people who had read (and followed) her blog and lost weight. It's possible to be appreciative without turning the person into some kind of deity! I didn't really need to hear how great she is, as I'm interested in what she's 'selling', not who she is as a person. It was too OTT. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, unfortunately most of her recipes are out of bounds for me, as she recommends the use of 'Swerve Confectioner's sweetener' in many of her recipes - even some of the savoury ones, which is not what I was looking for as it's useless trying to wean yourself away from sugar if you just replace it with another 'poison'. I have no idea how she lost so much weight when she kept spiking her insulin levels like that. She's also quite heavy on dairy (heavy cream, cream cheese and cheese etc.) which some Keto plans suggest avoiding, again for the insulin response it can provoke - and it can stall weight loss. Again Suzanne seems to have been lucky here. The meal plans at the back are quite helpful if new to Keto, as they give some idea of portion sizes and how to put a keto meal together - example, cheese and egg muffins for breakfast and chicken and mashed cauliflower for lunch. I'm not sure how old she is, she seems quite young, I'm not convinced that following this plan would work for an 'older' dieter (myself included) who has a slower metabolism, regarding the sweeteners and heavy use of dairy, but if someone is new to Keto and wants to wean themselves off sugar and dairy slowly, perhaps this is a good starting place.

Excited to read!
Have just ordered this book on Kindle ..very interested in the keto plan but the reason I am giving this book 5 stars before I have even read it ..is down to the sheer amount I could read on Amazon before I purchased . I think the authors must have some input with this and if so it's very generous to allow us to read so much upfront! You open up some books and it literally gives you one or two pages which gives you no insight . So I am happy to give this book 5 stars purely for that!

I've been very curious about keto this longtime. Last week I purchase this book on Kindle and I've made so much from it already. Very easy to read, understand and recipes are delicious.

As far as low carb recipe books go I have really gotten a ton of use out of this book so far and found it to be of good value for my money. The low carb/low sugar recipes have added some nice variety to our meals and the overall plan did not leave me feeling hungry or deprived, I appreciated the tips throughout. I really like the 30 day meal planner in the back that I can mix and match as I please according what food I might have on hand. Dinners suited everyone in the family, most were very quick to prepare we all enjoy the variety. There are some different breakfast ideas rather than eggs & protein smoothies every day, I love the muffin & pancake recipes that use almond flour, I found the almond flour is a little expensive but you use so little of it in recipes it goes a long way. The Cheese Keto Crackers are amazing, good little nibbles to take the edge off, easy to make, there's lots of low carb appetizers, sauces, sweets.... like I said it's a great tool to have in your kitchen. I also enjoyed reading about the author's journey, honest and straightforward, which has been inspiring for me too, to me this isn't a "diet" it's changing the way I eat to feel better all the way around!

I love, love, love, this cookbook. I've struggled to lose weight since my youngest was born 13 years ago. In spite of cutting out fast food, soda, junk food, and processed food over the years, my weight kept creeping up. I started running, took challenging classes at the gym, and even invested in a personal trainer for a while. I could lose a few pounds at most if I really worked super hard, but it was always too difficult to maintain that level of effort for such small results. When I first heard of the ketogenic diet, I dismissed it. I've always drawn the line at fad diets. However, I know a couple of people who follow a keto diet and love it. It didn't seem too difficult so I decided to give it a shot. There are two resources that make it manageable on a daily basis. The first is a free app called My Fitness Pal that I use to keep track of my carb, fat, and protein intake each day. The second is this cookbook. Not only does the book contain a good description of the keto diet and tips for sticking with it, but it includes a wide range of truly delicious and easy recipes. I have made many of them so far, and they've all been popular with my entire family. Sometimes I will make pasta, rice, or some other side dish for my non-keto husband and kids, but most of the time it isn't necessary and they are perfectly happy with the recipes as they are written. They are easy to double if you'd like leftovers for lunch the next day, and don't call for hard to find ingredients (I ordered Swerve and blanched almond flour online, but everything else is easy to find at my local grocery store). It's been a month in a half since I started the keto diet. I am down 13 pounds and feel great with no plans to stop any time soon. This cookbook has made the keto diet simple to follow in spite of my busy life with a business and three dogs. There's a sample 30 day meal plan included, tips for eating out or traveling, and similar resources.
