Had to have a replacement
My first order arrived damaged because the spigot had come out of its packaging and broken the glass jar. Replacement arrived in perfect condition. The only trouble I've had is that the lid went on so tightly I haven't been able to add tea to the jar. The opening is a good size for kombucha making, but too large for my hand.

Works great, no leakage.
Mine has not leaked at all. I suspect if you struggle with leakage, it is due to improper installation of the spigot. During installation, I had to go in with a wrench to hold the nut in place while I fastened the spigot, its not something you can just do by hand and expect a tight seal. Keep in mind the lid of the jar itself is meant to breathe, so don't expect it to be water tight. This lid is convenient replacement for cloth and rubber bands for kombucha fermentation.

Great Kombucha brewer
Excellent for brewing Kombucha, includes a stainless-steel mesh top to allow air in and keep pesky fruit flies out! Capacity is 1.2 gallons. When level falls below spigot there is room to add 1 gallon of black tea(that is what we use) Very pleased with this purchase

Now I have three.
About three months ago I bought this kombucha fermenter. It has not disappointed. I now have three. This fermenter wasn’t too expensive, includes good quality hardware, looks attractive on my counter and makes kombucha brewing easy. I just made my first batch of sweet tea, threw in the SCOBY I bought and voila, ten days later I had an excellent batch of kombucha. And it’s so easy to refill. About every ten days I bottle the kombucha down to the level of the spigot, leave everything else in there, pour in a new batch of sweet tea and ten days later, more kombucha. And all I had to do to get my next two going were to fill the new fermenters about a quarter of the way with kombucha from the first fermenter, fill it the rest of the way with sweet tea and a new SCOBY started growing immediately. It’ll do even better if you invest in a heater to keep the temp up. I adore this fermenter. If you like kombucha, your batches will be easy to make and cost a few cents worth of ingredients. It’s great.

Cracked Glass
Very poor craftsmanship. Like other reviewers here have said, the glass around where the spigot goes is cracked. I’m not in the mood for drinking glass.

Sturdy but tap is tricky to screw on
Tap was a little difficult to screw on tightly enough for seal without worry of breakage. Glass seems very thin around the tap hole. Works well if you can successfully sort out the tap fit, including removing and reinstalling for cleaning. If you add cut fruits etc. to your kombucha or use to brew with the scoby these may block the tap as there is no filter cover inside the jar

Great jar for kombucha or any other drinks!
Okay if you're into kombucha and you're either a beginner or an expert. I highly recommend getting this! It's easy to clean, the spout is very nice! And it looks very nice sitting on your counter. If you don't do kombucha this would be great for holding pink lemonade or fresh sweet tea! You could even use this to make sun tea!! Mmmm....it would be great if you like to host lunches or dinner!

Intended use is for continuous brewing of kombucha and needed a large glass vessel with a spigot. The item seems fit for purpose. The spigot is a bit fiddly to attach and the hole in the glass into which it fits had some sharp edges that needed care to avoid cuts to fingers.
