This wire is... well, not so good for a couple of reasons
Take a look at the photos I included. The wire is not consistently gold-coated. There are areas, approximately every 6 inches, where there isn't any gold coating at all.I make real reading glass frames using titanium gold-coated wire. I can't possibly make glasses frames using this inconsistent colored wire. There is nothing mentioning that I would be purchasing titanium wire that has inconsistent or missing gold color along the wire.Secondly, the wire was shipped in a type of "braid wrap" or interlocking twist wrap rather than simple circular winding. The "criss-cross" wrapping made it very, very difficult to unwrap without risking bending the wire. Unfortunately, this wire already had small kinks in it along its entire length. Because the wire was "lock-wrapped" or "twist-wrapped" that also placed sideways bending tension on it. When it was finally uncoiled, every 6 to 8 inches along the wire it veered right then left then right, and so on, because the "criss-cross" coiling method used to coil up the wire created a warping effect. There is no way I can use wire that is in this poor of condition to construct precision glasses frames, especially with inconsistent toning.I'm going to keep the wire to use it as mechanical wire for future use. But as far as using it as a high quality wire for high quality construction of something like precision wire rim reading glasses. That's not possible.Value for the money? No. In my opinion, especially being inconsistent in color, definitely not of value for the money paid.
