Rain Bird DRIPKITBAG Drip Irrigation Repair and Expansion Kit

This is the "almost" ideal drip line kit. Almost because it's missing one component. Otherwise an excellent kit for expanding or repairing the drip line system of my yard. The tool for inserting flow plugs into the main line is a big saver of time and energy. Plugs slip in without much effort. The one quarter inch line slips on the connectors or dispensers easily. Yet there is no leakage. The only thing missing is a three way connector. I will be buying this product again.

For my first foray into drip irrigation for my annuals, this kit was perfect. I also ordered two timers and additional emitters. I first set up drip irrigation for two large pots each with a mix of annuals with a hot sunny western exposure. I recommend more than one emitter at lower flow rates. I ended up with 3 emitters on each of these pots. This assured even distribution of water. Using lower flow rates also helps with even distribution. Next I set up for the patio, 4 hanging ferns, 6 large pots in planter boxes, two even larger pots on paver bases, a bushel basket sized planter of hosta, two small pots of annuals on stands. And finally a large pot with passion flower cuttings. After installing it took a few days of adjusting emitters of different flow rates so that this big variety of watering needs was balanced. These are all on one timer with two 1/4 inch lines. A week after setup, while we were away, there was a very hot dry spell. Everything did well! The kit was not quite adequate for me. But, keep in mind that there were so many pots over a 25 foot length, 15 feet to the nearest planter box from the water faucet, and 20 feet from the water faucet to the first hanging fern. An additional 50 ft of 1/4“ tubing and additional emitters did the job. On a simpler setup the kit would be adequate.

Just the correct number of emitters and fittings to add a small, raised bed planter to my drip system. Quality is very good. I've never been disappointed with Rainbird products. I will buy again.

Just what I expected and at a fair price.

Definitely only for drip. No sprinkling heads included. Lots of the parts are ones you will hardly ever use. You may want to shop for a package that also includes sprinkler heads.
