Great at dimming and great at full output
Used these to replace incandescent bulbs in a 12-bulb bathroom vanity which is on a 25 year old dimmer switch. At first I put in just a few of these LED bulbs to see how their dimming compared with traditional incandescent with my old-school dimming switch. It was pretty impressive, these Philips LED bulbs tracked the incandescents almost exactly both in brightness and the color/tone of the light (which gets very soft/orangey-yellow when very dim). The Philips engineers clearly did their homework and came up with an excellent design on this one. With the dimmer set to full-on, these LED bulbs are a bit brighter and a bit whiter than my old incandescents. After replacing all 12 bulbs the bathroom definitely gets brighter with more "crispness" to the light, but not harsh. I like it quite a bit, everything looks more clear...I read a review where someone complained about only 2 of the LED "filaments" light up. This is true when the dimmer is set towards the low range, and I think this is how Philips achieves the nice color at low dimming settings - these two filaments put out that more orangey-yellow color at the low levels, then when the dimmer is turned up these filaments become brighter but the other filaments (which are more white) kick in also so that all 6 of the LED filaments are on. It's clear that the two filaments being on at low levels is by design. All 12 of the bulbs have all of their filaments on at the higher dimming levels, I don't have any bad bulbs.Bottom line: I love these bulbs and have reduced my bathroom fixture power consumption from 480 Watts to 60 Watts!

Very poor quality bulbs
These bulbs seem to work but the color transition is not smooth. There are six "filaments" where each set of two are a different color. When very dim only two filaments are on to full bright all filaments are on. When one set goes on or off there is a sudden change of color. Then the color change is fairly smooth while the brightness changes until the next set either goes on or off. The strange thing is that it appears the most yellow near the center brightness, not the dimmest. On a dimmer these bulbs are quite a bit brighter than incandescent bulbs. I may end up going back to incandescent because of this. The five bulbs I put in the fixture all seem to work. Time will tell how long they last.Update: I have lowered my rating after using these for a couple of weeks because they would not dim enough and because they would flicker a lot when the dimmer was on high. I then replaced the old Lutron dimmer with a new one labeled for LED use which also has an adjustment.I was able to adjust it so the bulbs would go dimmer but then the problem is they won't come back on when you turn the switch off and on. You must make them brighter and then dimmer again. However, they bulbs still flicker a lot when the dimmer is on high.I will try to return them. If I can't I will throw them in the trash since I have gone back to the incandescent bulbs.

Working well despite reviews
Despite the often terrible reviews for Phillips Glass Filament bulbs, all 12 I installed are still going after about a month of service in bathrooms. My only complaint, which is my own fault, is that these are quite bright if the fixture is completely open or transparent. The filaments are very bright and would look best slightly diffused either in a tinted fixture or something with a slight pattern. I have not tried dimming but I suspect you'd need one of the more expensive low voltage dimmers to prevent buzzing, but I suspect they look quite handsome dimmed down. Either way these bulbs class up the place and I love the clean glass look. LED doesn't have to be ugly or crazy expensive!

Count your light bulbs?
The bulbs are very nice, but this listing is clearly for an 8-pack. I bought from FBA seller GREAT DEALS TODAY (95% rating) - and received six bulbs, not eight. They came in a 6-pack box that looked factory sealed from Philips. This could just be an error, or maybe they planned to send two more bulbs later in a different package.... So I guess my advice is to "count your light bulbs", and know your FBA seller. Returned - Frustrating!

Color temperature, brightness, and looks are there; Philips reliability is not.
These bulbs are hit or miss. I bought a ton of them for a new construction home because they are Philips and they offer the Edison bulb style we were trying to achieve. If I look carefully, there are six "filament tubes" in each bulb and only four of them light up. I thought this was an error because I even called Philips directly to inquire about this and they said all six "filament tubes" should be illuminated but that is not true. Every single one of the bulbs operate like this (purchased 24 of them), regardless of the fixture. I even brought some brand new ones home to test on my own fixtures and got the same result. Two of the bulbs died out within the first few weeks. The price is so good, we had so many extras I replaced them no problem.I thought Philips was a safe bet for quality LED bulbs. But apparently even the big companies are willing to produce garbage to meet a price point. I cannot comment about dimming because they are all connected to Decor on/off wall switchesMy recommendation is, just spend the extra money and go for a better quality bulb. Cheaper to pay more up front and not worry about any of the bulbs for the next ten years of your life. If you're willing to take some risk for a good price, these bulbs do look great and produce very good light output and the color temperature is spot-on. Just make sure to buy extra for down the road.

Lot's of light, not lot's of watts
These bulbs are fantastic! Replaced the old incandescent 40 bulbs over 3 vanities in our master bath. The old ones gave off a LOT of heat. These are room temp.I prefer the warmer 22-2700K. They give off slightly more light at 1/10 the wattage. Each of our vanities has 8 sockets so it's a lot of heat reduction and $ on the bill. My wife prefers the 5000K "daylight" version for her makeup vanity. The price is really great at $15-22 for a box of 8.They've been in service a couple of weeks and all is fine. I'd use these again in a heartbeat.
