Geekria Shield Case Compatible with AKG K340, K240 Studio, K242, K271, K272, K142 Headphones, Replacement Protective Hard Shell Travel Carrying Bag with Cable Storage (Dark Grey)

I'll explain the 5 Star rating despite the fact that this case is not the size that it claims to be below, but first, the sizing. This case claims to be 8.3" x 7.6" x 4.3" and then, lower on the page, it claims to be 8.66" x 10.24" x 4.72". The brands website offers another completely different set of dimensions that are not correct either, so skip their site as well. I found all of this terribly confusing, but I ordered the case anyway because it does say that it fits my headphones. (See more on that below.) Once measured, I found it to be approximately (I say approximately because it gets wider a bit closer to the zipper, and it is slightly deeper in the middle of the case then it is around the edges,) 9.12" x 8" x 5.24". So, *that* is what you are dealing with. ***I highly recommend looking up the specs of the headphones that you have or are planning on buying before purchasing this case.*** So, now that that is out of the way, this is to all of you purchasing this for the AKG 240's This case does fit them, but it is a *very* snug fit. There will be a bit of either turning the headphones inward, {See Photos] or a bit of compressing of the overhead wire, causing the "L" and "R" circles on either side to barely squeeze in. The photos don't show the side angle, but the headphones fit fine as per depth goes. I use the first method of tucking one ear into the case and it does not harm the headphones in any way and the case shuts nicely. The uniform, "proper" fitting in of the headphones looks nice, but is *very* snug on the sides of the headphones, so much so that it seems as though they might scrape up the interior of the case just a bit. I cannot speak for the other styles of AKG's and how well they fit. As for the quality of the case, I found the zipper to be sturdy and does not seem like it will give out; the outer seems durable and has held up to a couple scrapes against sharp-ish objects in my bag and remains like new; the case itself is fairly difficult to bend in or crush (I have tried, with my headphones in it and without,) but it is *not* a hardshell case; the inner offers no real padding, just a thin liner with only the smallest amount of give, but is of a nice quality (if you can stomach Hunter Orange,) and seems durable, as does the small, well-made, mesh/solid sleeve/elastic strap cord-cozy that velcros onto the inside of the case; it is also very lightweight. Oh yeah, some people mention that the cases they buy have odd/putrid/nauseating odors to them. This case arrived smelling like a new car. All in all, I don't really think that this case is worth the price, but I still gave it 5 Stars due to the fact that it does protect my AKG 240's nicely (even if they are quite snug,) and seems as though it will be a case that will not shit-out on me anytime soon. Solid protection and quality workmanship gets it 5 Stars...even if they can't measure a case to save their life. @ Amazon - Maybe pester the company to get their sizes correct. If this case is off, others may be as well. Thanks.

I just received it so I can't review longevity. However it's nicer than I expected. Fits AKG 240s just great. Nice hard shell should survive some abuse, other than something heavy crushing it or something sharp. The outside is covered in a charcoal cloth. The inside in a bright orange soft cloth. The zipper works well from either side. It has a carry handle. Inside that is a smaller orange pouch. It fits without getting in the way of the headphone storage. Quite handy. It has velcro on one side to keep it stuck tight to the case or you can totally remove it, it has a pocket across the top that will fit earphones or headphone cable, and has two separate pockets on the front for earphones or small device, and across that is elastic to store more smaller cables. There also was a separate small, soft, black leather-like pouch to store another cord or cable or small device. I'm not sure why that was there? I don't think I saw it in the ad. If you have the headphones that are listed or ones that are shaped the same size, they will conveniently fit, and you will be happy with this case... if you don't mind charcoal and orange. It looks like it will hold up a long time if you take reasonably good care of your belongings, which I do. For others who will be on the go and tossing it around more than I would, you'll have to review the sturdiness and longevity of that. Mine will be for home use, general storage, and occasional outings.

This is a very nice, roomy case for my AKG K240 Headphones. The headphones fit perfectly with more than enough room for my extra cable but not too much room where the headphones move around. The little pouch is very nice as well. I am very happy that I got this case to protect my nice headphones!

I get that it’s supposed to be compact and fit the headphones nicely, but I find that they just barely fit inside. Of course their design makes it difficult to make a compact case, but I feel like just a little bit of extra width/length (depending on how you look at it) would have been helpful. minor nitpick, all things considered. Other than that it’s been great.

Update: this case has been through some very hard knocks! I had to add this: this afternoon I was playing my Fender J-bass guitar, as I moved to step over a box, cables & other flotsam and jetsam I accidentally released my hold on my bass and it landed squarely on the Geekria case! I gasped and immediately checked for my worse fear: damage to either. My guitar has seen A LOT worse but my headphones & Geekria case are usually set up on my gear shelf. No major dent, no cave in, just a very minor mark! You can buy a cheap, flimsy case and replace it in 3 months or invest in a durable, quality and use it for years. I've been using mine for 20+ months and it's as if I first received it. Protective construction, similar to fiber board, stronger than cardboard but I wouldn't stand on it. I use it to protect my AKG 240 MK II's -- *PERFECT* fit. The small pouch is a good idea, personally I don't use it much (other than store memory cards & the 1/4" plug) but it can take an extension cable or other sound room accessories.

Nice case but it the AKG K 240 headphones are TOO BIG. Had to return this case. The seller advertises this case as fitting those headphones.

This case fits my new AKG headphones perfectly and provides good protection while traveling between field recording projects.

My case arrived before I expected it. The case is sturdy and the zipper is solid. Inside is a small mesh pouch that you can store your MP3 player in or an extra set of cables. The case is roomy in all three directions.

I purchased this a few months ago and had the chance to give it a great use and test in my everyday situations. It may seem big for many people but it is the perfect protective case for my AKG K275 over ear headphones.. I carry this case everyday to work, inside my backpack and great and fully protects my headphones. Recommended!

La provenienza del prodotto (Cina), il rivenditore pressoché sconosciuto e pochissimi feedback non mi facevano sperare in meglio. Però non trovando nulla di meglio (a un prezzo relativamente contenuto, come quello di questo prodotto) e appoggiandomi all'unico feedback veramente positivo (ed esauriente) presente ho deciso di rischiare. Ho così acquistato l'oggetto in questione: una custodia per il trasporto di cuffie di qualità, quali le varie AKG contenute nella descrizione. Il pacco è arrivato in anticipo rispetto alla data preventivata e trattandosi di una spedizione internazionale la cosa non ha potuto che farmi piacere: primo punto a favore. Il pacco non si presentava benissimo, ma solamente da un punto di vista estetico. Internamente proteggeva benissimo il prodotto con vari strati di materiali che proteggono dagli urti. Il prodotto è fatto bene, nonostante i materiali non siano sicuramente "pelle umana" o simili. La struttura portante è molto probabilmente costruita in una plastica leggera e non credo riesca a resistere a una eventuale pressione meccanica. Ma siamo sinceri: se la vostra confezione e le relative cuffie finiscono sotto una schiacciasassi non avete preso il prodotto giusto: a voi serve una valigetta in piombo balistico. Lo scopo di questo prodotto è andare incontro a chi, come me, spesso si porta dietro delle cuffie che non meritano (sacrilegio!) di essere trattate come molti giovani d'oggi trattano le loro sovraurali "commerciali". E questo scopo questa confezione la svolge nel migliore dei modi. Spesso la ripongo in valigia (cercando di farla stare sopra al contenuto della stessa e non sotto, ovviamente...) e non ho mai avuto problemi, trovandola all'arrivo sempre intatta e senza i segni di impatti o altro. Lo spazio interno non presenta sostegni in gommapiuma o simili che impediscano alle cuffie di muoversi (come spesso si può trovare in prodotti simili ma dai costi maggiori), ma la dimensione è talmente precisa rispetto ai modelli specificati nella descrizione del prodotto che le cuffie non si possono muovere una volta alloggiate all'interno (io personalmente possiedo delle AKG K242). All'interno troviamo anche una retina che può essere molto utile per alloggiare altri oggetti che siamo soliti portare assieme alle cuffie (adattatori, ecc). Io personalmente la uso per riporre il mio amplificatore DAC USB Fiio Olympus E10. Sempre all'interno della confezione troviamo un cinturino "strap" comodissimo per legare il cavo della cuffia, spesso lungo qualche metro, e anche (nel mio caso) una lisca di pesce di gomma, ideata per bloccare tra le sue "lische" i cavi (tipo ordina-cavi, per intenderci). Ho trovato entrambi questi oggetti molto utili (oltreché simpatici). Non posso che consigliarvi questo prodotto.

Ein Punkt, welcher nicht ausschlaggebend für diese Bewertung war, ist, dass der Anbieter im Verhältnis zu anderen einfach eine zu lange Lieferzeit hat. Wenn man schon auf Amazon bestellen möchte, und das Produkt sei lieferbar, dann habe ich die Erwartung das Produkt sei in 4 - 6 Tagen bei mir. 11 Tage sind dafür einfach zu lang. Der eigentliche Punkt, der für diese schlechte Bewertung gesorgt hat, ist folgender. Das Produkt stinkt fürchterlich nach Chemie!!!!! Ich dachte zu Beginn, es sei normal, da es sich um ein neues Produkt handelt, und der Geruch sich von alleine neutralisiert. Fehlanzeige! Nach 5 Tagen auslüften keinen Unterschied. Dann versucht den Geruch mit Kaffee zu neutralisieren. Hat leider auch nicht geholfen. Selbst eine ausführliche Fahrt in der Waschmaschine hat keine Verbesserung erzielt. Darin lassen sich keine hochwertigen Kopfhörer verstauen, die den Geruch nicht annehmen sollen. Deshalb: FINGER WEG VON DIESEM PRODUKT!!
