Dell P2414H 23.8 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor

Bought this to replace a Hanns-G 24 inch that would just randomly turn itself off and to be frank had poor colour representation. Was seriously thinking about buying an Apple Cinema monitor but for the price one might as well buy a full iMac for £250 more.I prefer a PC for my everyday computer as I find Windows more productive than Apple OS. Anyway very happy with this monitor, Straight out of the box, easy to put together no need to run disk. I have compared it right next to my Macbook Pro and the screen quality is nearly as good. Stand is superb, tilts, can put in portrait mode and can be moved about 50 degrees left and right. I did a lot of research on affordable IPS monitors and narrowed it down to this or the Asus Pro Art which is a about £30 more. Happy with my choice and very tempted to get another to replace my other Dell Ultra-sharp LCD

I was going to order the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M 24 inch IPS Widescreen LED Monitor but after a good review on TFT central I decided to give this one a try. Despite it being a 16:9 ratio instead of 16:10 I absolutely adore this screen. The initial plan was to run this as my main next to my old TFT but honestly the quality difference stopped that idea dead - IPS is amazing! The stand is very attractive and allows me to sit the screen on my desk without needing a thick old maths book under it. It is also very easy to raise/lower, tilt up/down or left/right if needed. The whole screen itself can also be rotated to portrait in either direction. I'm not exactly a pro gamer but I didn't notice any lag from the screen and the review from TFT Central would back that up so it's excellent for gaming. While the 16:9 ratio is good for games and movies I would have preferred 16:10 for browsing, however you could always just rotate the screen for landscape. Sadly the screen doesn't tell my PC to automatically rotate the desktop to match however I've yet to hear of a monitor that does (Hint hint manufacturers - make one)! Buyers should note that while the screen will support DVI-D connections the monitor comes with VGA and DisplayPort cables ONLY. If your PC does not have DisplayPort I would strongly recommend buying a DVI-D cable instead of using VGA in order to keep the signal digital end-to-end.

Fantastic picture quality at a great price. Wide viewing angles and brilliant colour reproduction. This monitor only loses a star for the arbitrary lack of HDMI. I imagine Dell want to differentiate their U24 range, but HDMI has been the standard for some time.

Worked great the first few days however one morning I switched on PC to find black horizontal lines covering all of the screen. Though Amazon customer service were fast sending back my money which i'm grateful.

Bought this monitor because of the features and Dell's reputation for quality monitors. Upgrading from a 21" monitor this thing looks huge but after a while you soon get used to it. Plenty of connections on the back (VGA, DisplayPort and DVI-D) as well as a USB hub so you can hook up devices as required. I'm using the DisplayPort connection and the quality is superb - response rate is more than enough for gaming and the colours look really nice on it. As an added bonus this monitor can rotate to A4 mode and it has a fantastic stand to allow tilting and height adjustment. I've had this monitor for a few hours and it's damn good. Being an IPS, the color accuracy and the viewing angles are both excellent. It's also PWM-free, which reduces eye strain. No burnt pixels, no backlight bleeding that I can notice. The ergonomy is also a big plus: you can tilt it, pivot it, raise it... more than I need, really. The base seems big and very sturdy and in general I can't see physical defects. The only thing I can criticize is the lack of HDMI... but it has VGA, DVI and Displayporty so yea, there's plenty of connectivity. The options interface is very well organized too. I still haven't tested games to evaluate ghosting/response (which are notorious issues for IPS panels) because I have hooked it on a crappy Laptop, but in the TFTcentral review it performed very well for an IPS. As a first impression it's overall very good.

The monitor is OK, but it doesn't have HDMI. I thought that is not going to be a problem but it turned out to be a problem when I tried to watch the amazon movies.

Dell have a great reputation for their IPS panels and this was a great purchase, coming from an older iiyama TN panel. Once fully calibrated using the details from TFT Central it really does have a great picture and I don't notice ghosting or anything bad about it at all. The USB ports underneath it are very fiddly to use and plug into unless you lift the monitor, which is a shame. It would have been nice if they were easier to use without having to look at them. Good height and angle adjustment as well

Tras mucho mirar, inicialmente compré el Asus VX239H de 23 pulgadas por el precio y porque tenía muy buenas críticas. He de decir que el Asus es un buen monitor, pero el soporte oscilaba demasiado en mi mesa de trabajo al teclear y los colores me parecían demasiados saturados. Así que lo devolví y compré el Dell P2414H. Aunque dudé entre este y los Dell U2414h y Dell U2415, puesto que lo quiero usar principalmente para programar y no quería desembolsar mucho dinero, finalmente me decanté por el P2414h. Para mí, la calidad de la imagen es muy buena. No necesito más. Me ha llegado la revisión A02 de Octubre de 2014, para los interesados. El soporte es una maravilla, más estable y totalmente ajustable. El diseño me gusta mucho. Lo estoy usando con un Mac Mini Late 2012 y un cable MiniDisplayPort a DisplayPort que tuve que comprar. Ese es el único inconveniente, que podrían haber incluido este cable.

La caratteristica più importante di questo monitor è che è esente dal fenomeno del flicker. Il flicker è lo sfarfallio(non percepibile direttamente) prodotto dai led(retroilluminanti) tramite i circuiti PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) usati per la regolazione della luminosità. La retroilluminazione del 95% dei monitor LED in commercio è basata su PWM. In questo monitor invece la retroilluminazione viene variata con corrente continua. Considerando che lavoro davanti al monitor anche 8 ore al giorno, l'assenza di sfarfallio è stato il motivo principale di questa scelta. Per il resto il pannello è un AH-IPS di ottima qualità e molto luminoso. Tengo la luminosità mediamente al 20% di conseguenza consuma anche molto poco. La presenza di un hub USB 2.0 x 4 è molto comoda anche se non altrettanto la sua posizione (dietro il pannello). ASPETTI NEGATIVI: Non sono presenti le casse audio. E' dotato di tutti gli ingressi tranne dell'HDMI. Hanno fornito tutti i cavi (VGA, DISPLAY PORT, USB) tranne l'unico cavo che mi serviva (DVI) che ho dovuto comprare a parte.

Ottimo monitor IPS di qualità che non costa un esagerazione. Regolabile in altezza, ruotabile sull'innesto della base, e "tiltabile". Base robusta e sufficientemente pesante, con gommini antiscivolo, sta fissa sulla scrivania senza muoversi, permettendo di muovere il pannello liberabilmente a destra-sinistra-alto-basso senza preoccuparsi che si muova tutto il monitor. Varie connessioni disponibili inclusa la display port. Manca l'HDMI, ma non avendo casse incorporate poco importa. Rivestimento antiriflesso leggero, non invasiso come capita su altri pannelli, schermo completamente flicker-free che non affatica la vista, e buona regolazione standard di fabbrica, consigliabile regolarlo su tonalità di colore più calde per ridurre ancor di più l'emessione di luce led blu e affaticare ancora meno la vista. Angoli di visione validi come ovvio per un pannello IPS, ma non eccezzionali, soprattutto guardandolo con angolazione più alta. Attenzione: per chi volesse usarlo su Windows XP, lo schermo funziona benissimo, ma non esistono driver per questo sistema operativo, quindi verrà rilevato come monitor generico plug'n'play.

Monitor de muy buena calidad, recibido en el tiempo correcto y sin ningún defecto (ni pixeles mal ni bleending excesivo como dicen algunos) Muy sencillo de montar y con conexión dvi (No incluye el cable) y displayport (incluido cable)(el modelo U2414H tiene hdmis por si interesa conectar consolas u otros aparatos). Incluye concentrador de usbs por si se necesitan (son 2.0 frente a 3.0 del modelo U). El diseño me gustaban en ambos (P/U) pero prefiero los botones físicos de este; menú de configuraciones completo pero sencillo de controlar. Recomendable instalar los drivers y la aplicación de Dell que viene en el cd ya que permite configurar los distintos modos del monitor para que vayan cambiando automáticamente según lo que hagas (por ejemplo activar el modo juegos en aplicaciones 3d a pantalla completa). A nivel de rendimiento decir que le doy uso general desde ofimática, multimedia, internet y videojuegos (incluso shooters y juegos de carreras) y va perfectamente, no os asustéis por los 8ms para juegos. La calidad de imagen no puedo valorar muy bien ya que vengo de un TN 19" de más de 7 años (viewsonic VX1945wm) y la diferencia es grande. Es cierto que tiene algo de bleending en la esquina inferior izquierda, pero eso tengo entendido que es común en todos los IPS (al menos de este rango de precios) y es un poco lotería, puede venirte con más o menos, es algo que ya debes valorar una vez lo tengas si te parece excesivo o como es mi caso, no supone ningún problema incluso con películas o videojuegos oscuros de noche y con las luces de la habitación apagadas (lo uso con los valores de serie, 34-brillo 75-contraste, en los modos estándar y videojuegos principalmente). En fin, que estoy muy satisfecho con la compra y se la recomiendo a cualquiera que lea esto y tenga dudas sobre el monitor.
