good cable

I bought this to plug my Shure mic into a battery operated amplifier. The cable fit both the XLR and 3.5 mm ends well. No complaints for my use. I did want to warn people that this does not work with mics that require phantom power to operate. It was fine with my Shure SM58 mic that doesn't. This isn't really a problem with the product so I gave it 5 stars but as I was using it I realized people might not consider the phantom power issue. I also want to caution potential users that amps like my boom box style use line level input and may require a microphone preamp. Again, this is not a failing of this adapter, but having done audio for dance teachers I just want to point out that while the cable connects a mic to an amp you may not get usable sound if the mic is not designed for line level and no phantom power. The Shure SM58 does require a preamp to function with the boom box style amp as the level is too low for useful sound. It solved my problem and I would certainly buy it again, but I wanted to warn users that just because it plugs in doesn't mean it will work. It won't damage anything if you try and it's wrong. You just won't get enough sound out.

I got this to use an XLR mic with my Canon M50. It works straight out of the box...no phantom power required and very little hiss. Worth it.
