Fender Squier Sonic Stratocaster, Electric Guitar, 2-Colour Sunburst, Ideal for Beginners

For the price this is a bit of a bargain, budget models can be a bit hit or miss but this one certainly hits close to the bull. Its a nice light weight body with a flawless gloss finish, the satin finish on the neck and headstock is pretty damn good as well, purely from a viewing perspective it really looks the real deal. The strings, 9's were actually in good nick and won't need to be changed just yet, the action was set quite low and there was no fret buzz and the intonation was pretty near the mark, for a budget model factory set up there can be no complaints. The frets had no rough edges and were fine. The nut, most likely plastic was well cut and will do its job well. Although they looked like cheap tuners they held the tuning very well so again no issues there. Unplugged it was quite nice but plugged in it again reached higher expectations, there was a nice warmth on the neck pickup, the middle was quite bright and the bridge pickup had considerable bite, both inbetween positions were very good with the neck and middle together being quite outstanding, again not bad at all for a budget model. Add a bit of reverb, delay, overdrive or compression and it really comes alive, nice sustain very nice indeed. All in all a very bargain.

Very impressed with this full kit. Was looking to get a second hand one through certain websites however, always let down with the fact they didn’t come with either an amp, bag/ stand, leads and even a shoulder strap! So for the value of having everything in this kit and know its brand new was impressive and value for money. I got it on a sale too prior to Christmas. It’s well made and feels great out of the box. It’s a full size guitar and deffo worth it. Even I lose my interest in playing it will hold a good resale value!

Love the fender guitar very sturdy looks amazingz quite light, i got a tuner for it and its very good and easy to tune with accuracy,amazing for beginners.

This is a beautiful looking guitar and the quality and sound are amazing after some adjustment. As a beginner, I wondered why the guitar sounded a bit thin a weedy, was it because it’s cheap. I started to think you need a decent amp and effects, maybe replace the pickups…. Absolutely not, the guitar needs need set-up and adjustment straight out of the box. There are tools provided and plenty of tutorials on YouTube. Intonation (saddle adjustment) and pickup height are essential. Raising the pickups towards the strings makes a huge difference to the tone and sustain. Very happy with the purchase and learning process to make this sound amazing.

These guitars are fantastic 😍 Build quality, hardware and finish are excellent. Just needed a bit of a set up (action lowered and intonation checked) and it plays incredibly well. I have way too many guitars !

To my mind this is an excellent item at a reasonable price. Bolt as a Christmas gift for one of my granddaughters she does not want it so unfortunately I must return it but I would recommend purchase if you require a fender Stratocaster. Guitar.

Value for money

I bought this as an inexpensive platform to test different mods, setups and wiring experiments. I play lighter gauge strings than those on the guitar when it arrived. A string swap, truss rod and action adjustments, and intonation setup were stable and easy to do. The tuners initially were loose on the neck, but have not moved since being tightened. I re-decked the tremolo and guitar remains in tune during and between sessions. The neck and body appear and play as perfectly aligned. The frets were level but a couple were slightly rough at the bottom edge of the neck though they do not interfere with how I play- low action and no fret buzz. The pickups were better than I expected and it is easy to replicate classic Strat tones though a small tube amp. The thinner body is lighter than a standard strat and seems very lively with some sympathetic ringing from unplucked strings. This was in addition to some tremolo spring ring (which I damped with plastic tubing). If you do not expect the finish and feel of a $1000+ guitar, you will be more than satisfied. This is a real musical instrument, not a toy. Out of the box it is a better guitar than I learned to play on. An outstanding value for the price.
