This is the first magnetic knife block I've ever bought and I am liking it. The knives are held in place by some very strong magnets. I find the only realistic way to remove them is to pull them up, (as if I was drawing the blade from a sheath) at least until I get the blade off a few of the magnets, and the hold is reduced. The knife block itself is very nice and sturdy. I have had no problems with using knives from both sides, as there is more than enough room for me to grab the handles. Plus, the weight of the knife block keeps it from moving or wobbling during use. The wood seems very water resistant; we keep the block next to the sink and place our wet knives on it. Cleaning it has been a breeze so far by just wiping it down with a rag; it isn't really ever dirty so we don't use soap. The wood is of a nice quality, I did put a little oil on it before using it the first time, just for added moisture protection, I don't really think it was a necessity though. It is wood though, and I promptly scratched the surface, with my chef knife, while deciding how I wanted to set it up. More specifically, while I was figuring the best way to pull the blade off the block, I tipped it over. On the upside, the wood isn't just some laminate, so unless you get close you would never know it is there. I could have taken sand paper to it but it was already difficult to see. If you're looking for a functional, heavy, and nice looking knife block this is a really good one.

I bought some (what I considered quality) knives that i wanted to take care of. One of the things that help dull knives are blocks the cutting edge rest on or slide against. Pulling knives out or putting them in can really speed up the dulling process. This magnetic knife block is a great way to remedy this problem. The magnet is strong so they won't slide down or just fall off. It is made of good quality materials and is sturdy. It has a decent weight to it so it doesn't fall over. I like the fact you can put knives on both sides. It also looks really nice. I have even used it to hold my poultry shears. The finish will scratch if you have sharp kmives and run the blade on it. Just be careful how you put it on there. I have been using this block for the better part of a year and still love it.

I got this as a gift for my fancy brother- he is quite impressive in the kitchen! I think this is a better idea for knife storage than having them in a drawer- much safer and should eliminate any accidental cuts when reaching in! It is sturdy- has good weight to it and holds his metal knives securely- ease of access is key for him when he's cooking. One thing I didn't realize when I got this, is he has quite a few ceramic knives, which obviously don't work on this block, but that is not a knock on this item- it is wonderful!

The block is small which makes it convenient for my limited counter space. It was easy to put together and it's pretty light and easy to move around. The sharpener is nothing to write home about, but it does work. I find it unlikely that anyone will be storing this in a place that it'll be convenient to get to and so you probably won't be using the sharpener much, but it's there if you need it. The magnets are nice and strong and hold knives in place well. One thing to consider is that it's difficult to pull knives away from the stand from the side especially if you have knives all along the block as there isn't anywhere to grab it to brace. I find that I have to slide the knife I want up from the block to pull it off the magnets. If the magnets were weaker, you'd risk knives falling off, so it's a well-made product, just not ideal for storing on a counter underneath a cupboard. The wood finish looks nice and the parts fit together well. The top frame was off-center of the base by the slightest bit when I was finished putting it together. We're talking less than 1/16th of an inch off. Nobody else in my family even noticed nor would most normal people, but it irked me.

This is a strong magnet I can definitely attest to that. The problem with it is whatever coating is on top scratches really easily which is not the best since its use is to hold the knives. With that said, it looks good and holds the knives so it does its job. It’s also smaller than I thought but that’s my fault.

Nice design and it works well with my knives and the magnet is strong it held my cleaver also . I like that built in sharpener well worth it and the extra room on the counter top . I don’t have to open the drawers to find my knives

Great product! Looks elegant. Magnets are strong. I have 17 knives ranging from small pairing to cleaners on my rack. If you know how to place & remove knives from the block your knives & block will last a very long time. I love this product & will recommend highly.

Je l'ai commandé la veille et reçu le lendemain, donc livraison rapide, mais... il est en mauvaise état : le plaquage de bois est fissuré à plusieurs endroits. Je l'ai testé et les aimants sont puissants et les couteaux tiennent très bien. Il est livré avec un tournevis, une vis et une cheville en plus au cas où, ce qui est bien. Mais je vais demander un échange car esthétiquement, on dirait un objet d'occasion. A part ce soucis, c'est un très bel article.

Amazing quality. I am nicely surprised. Big enough for 10 knives and it looks great. Requires less room than a square block. Very elegant. It looks great on a kitchen counter! Sharpener is a bonus. I strongly recommend and would buy again!

Ho acquistato questo supporto magnetico in legno per i miei coltelli perché ero stanco di litigare con il vecchio ceppo, che ormai aveva fatto il suo lavoro, con il tempo ormai si era troppo usurato e volevo qualcosa di più bello da vedere in cucina. Arrivato in una confezione completa addirittura dí cacciavite per il montaggio e confezionato adeguatamente con estrema cura, per evitare che possa danneggiarsi durante il trasporto. Devo dire che l'aspetto è davvero azzeccato, il legno di acacia ha un colore caldo e fa la sua figura sul piano della mia cucina che ha un colore simile, sembra un oggetto di arredamento! La calamita è forte, tiene bene anche i coltelli più pesanti su entrambi i lati, tra l’altro ho notato che più i coltelli sono grandi e più vengono attratti dal magnete interno, probabilmente per il fatto che offrono più metallo per l’attrazione magnetica, cosa che non tutti i modelli simili fanno, questo mi permette di mettere un bel po' di coltelli (io ne ho messi una decina). Non ci sono le fessure o peggio quei fili di plastica dura compressi che tengono i coltelli nei classici “ceppi”, quindi le lame restano belle affilate perché non toccano niente di duro quando vengono estratti, sono semplicemente attaccate sul legno. È abbastanza pesante alla base, quindi stabile e sicuro per evitare che si capovolga prendendo i coltelli. Forse è meglio non poggiarci sopra coltelli bagnati, magari a lungo andare l'acqua potrebbe macchiare l'acacia? Meglio dopo la pulizia assicurarsi che la lama sia completamente asciutta e poi attaccare il coltello! Inoltre, controlla bene l'altezza, perché con i coltelli più lunghi attaccati (io ne volevo attaccare anche uno da prosciutto decisamente lungo), potrebbero non stare sotto i pensili più bassi della cucina. In generale, un ottimo acquisto, fa quello che promette con stile. Consigliatissimo!!!
