Appears to be a qood solution for planting on steep and relatively hard/non-porous slopes
I am using this material on a steep (up to 45 degree) slope with lots of decomposed granite 'sand' that makes it difficult to water newly planted ground cover. This blanket appears to absorb and hold enough water that I think my seedlings will survive. The only challenge I have found so far is cutting the material-- coconut fiber dulls scissor blades very quickly!

Exceptional quality
Exceptional quality and easy to unroll. Must have mat for seeding grass on steep slopes/banks to prevent ground erosion and washing away seeds.

Easy to use
Quick shipping. This is very easy to use, even on steep, rocky slopes. Looked great after we got it down. We received record rains for 4 days after we laid it. It stayed in place and settled nicely. The stakes they recommend with this are awesome, very heavy duty, stout! The real question is, how it will do over time. It's supposed to be good for up to 3 years. We'll see how this does and will report back.

Excellent Erosion Control
I have an embankment with a steep slope. I put this down before Tropical Storm Hilary hit in Southern California and it stayed in place and prevented slippage. It’s kind of like a thick blanket. I really like it. It’s thick and substantial, and actually kind of naturally attaches itself to the ground because of the materials it’s made from. I did stake it down, however. I got the type with all natural materials because I want it to eventually become part of the hillside and provide even more erosion control. Truly excellent product.
