Works great as a Cat water bowl disinfectant
It might be an unconventional use but I use mine as a safe alternative disinfectant for my cat's water fountain. The light stays hidden inside the porcelain fountain so my cats are safe and not affected by any direct UV light but the constant water circulation through the now-lit interior keeps the slime at bay and keeps the water in the whole fountain that much cleaner and safer for that much longer. I have two cats and I actually have 2 of the exact same fountain (I love it, I've tried many and it's the best) and every week or two I swap the dirty one for the freshly cleaned one. I then have a week or so to thoroughly clean the one not in use. That way my cats always have clean water and I have a little time before cleaning is absolutely necessary if I get busy or bogged down with work. The sanitizing UV light helps make the 2 week stretches possible and works like a charm. Before the light was added I was disassembling and cleaning every part of the pump and filter set up and would often find a light slimy coating on hidden interior surfaces. Since I've added the light, even the interior surfaces of the pump have remained slime free. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. The construction and waterproofing seem to be of a high quality and I like that it has a built in switch on the cord.

Works well, but DO NOT place directly in the tank
This algae removal light works well, but it must never be placed directly inside the tank. I made that mistake and it killed all my fish. The light should be placed inside the filter or somewhere it doesn’t shine directly on the fish. The product itself seems good quality, but be extremely careful with placement and follow the instructions for safe use.

This little UV light really gets the job done!
These little UV lights are a really game changer for me. I use them in all of my tanks. They keep algae at bay and help all of my aquariums to maintain crystal clear water. Plus, you can’t beat the price! The oldest ones were purchased 3 years ago and they are still functioning without an issue, so I definitely think they’ve been engineered well. UV light is just like staring into the sun… it’s not good for you to look directly at it for very long, which also holds true for your aquatic critters. When using a UV light, you want water to freely pass around it, so that it can help rid your tank of damaging free-floating organisms (such as algae, bacteria, and parasites) by damaging their dna, so they can’t reproduce. Placement is key, because it needs to avoid being seen AND you don’t want to kill beneficial bacteria in your filter. So, how do I utilize these little lights? I pop them straight into my HOB (hang on back) filters. I also tend to use AquaClear filters, but this trick will work in any HOB filter… which hides them from sight (mine and my fish!). I’ve added a photo of how I place them in my filters. I place them behind the inlet/inflow pipe. This way water flows around the UV light first, then it passes through the filtration media, which houses the majority of the tank’s beneficial bacteria. As you can tell from my photo, it fits nicely and it’s really simple to use… just plug it in and turn it on! There’s an on/off switch on the cord. But there’s really no down side to leaving it on 24/7, which is what I do. And as I said previously… I have some that are still going strong after 3 years. Look at the pictures that I’ve posted… if you’re looking for clarity in your water and you want to reduce potentially harmful pathogens… then just buy one of these right now! I recommend them to anyone who asks how to get rid of algae. They are so worth it!

Solved green water problem
This solved my problem of having green water every week. Would give five stars because it works grate but giving four starts because you have to put inside the filter and filter cartridge will not fit. Had to buy different filter and improvise.

Not effective.
Used this for 8 hours/day for 4 days. Green water got greener each day. The included test strip says it's working. I can see the blue light when it's on. The enclosed specification says it operates at 220V. USA uses 120V. That means this 3W bulb only outputs 1.5W; making it useless.

It works!!
Let me start by saying my fish tank was in a BAD way! I have a 6 gallon freshwater corner aquarium that is only about 2 months old. My water started slowly turning green and I had no idea what was happening! I've owned a variety of tank sizes and this had never happened before. I eventually consult the internet and find out I had a terrible case of algae bloom! A UV light was strongly recommended as my critters were slowly dying. We lost one guppy and about 5 shrimp! I found this UV light and chose to go with this brand because of reviews and of course, PRICE! It is about 2-3 inches in length and about as wide as a ladie's thumb. It gives off a powerful little glow for such a small thing! It comes with a suction cup so you don't have to worry about the light floating around. It was super easy to plug in and set up! In less than ONE week, this light has completely transformed my tank. It has saved my remaining guppy and shrimp! If you're looking for a reasonably priced UV light that is small but mighty, give this brand a try! You will NOT be disappointed! I've attached progress pictures to show what 6 days of use has done to my filthy tank water!

Not bad but need material
It does work. It took about a week or two for my 40 gallon tank to clear up. You will need a filter or some type of tube that will allow water flow but also allow no fish through. Which is hard if your like me and your fish had babies so they’re tiny as can be… anyway, if you have a good filter already this will fit in, it’s not a bad idea. Cheap. And it does work as advertised but also as people said, it’ll kill your fish if you expose them to this light. Follow the directions and you’ll be fine. I wish the light was smaller tbh it’s kinda awkwardly fat I had to buy a 5 gallon filter just for it to sit in and not kill my fish
