Fun!
I've been wishy washy about some of the Magic: the Gathering 'Universes Beyond' scheme, partially because of the pricing of the Universes Beyond decks. I'd also like that some Universes picked had some sort of in-game Magic: the Gathering Arena component, though I understand that licensing for an online game might make such a tie-in too complicated, on top of the fact that Arena technically doesn't allow for Commander Deck play. That all said, how could I turn down a Doctor Who Magic: the Gathering deck? Answer, I couldn't. This is a wonderful deck! Every card has Who-themed artwork, even though some of the cards aren't actually new to Magic. The mechanics are a little complicated to pick up -- this deck also features the Planechase mechanic -- but as always they're fairly self-explanatory. The deck is fun to play and definitely has some interesting cards in it. The die that comes with the set is a bit disappointing, but that's all right. The fantastic card art and thrillingly in-Who-universe people/places/concepts/ideas makes the set fabulous all by themselves. As a long-time Whovian, I was thrilled to see the details touched on and included in the deck, and it easily had me dusting off my in-person Magic skills to play in real life with other people. A very fun deck, and I'd say a must-have for Whovian Magic: the Gathering fans.

Great condition came with everything might not be for beginners
Came with everything that was listed bought this as my first intro to magic made my life a living hell while learning because the mechanics are very complicated and often conflict with each other but I eventually got the hang of it. cards were in great condition .

excitement of Doctor Who to MTG
As a 34-year-old woman balancing full-time work, full-time school, and our home life with my husband, two dogs, and five cats, I look for hobbies that let us unwind together without too much setup. My husband, who enjoys strategic games, picked up the Magic: The Gathering Doctor Who Commander Deck – Timey-Wimey for some evening sessions, and it's added a thematic twist to our gaming time with its clever Doctor Who mechanics. Deck Contents and Theme: This precon Commander deck features the Doctor as commander, emphasizing blink effects, time travel synergies, and iconic Who elements like Daleks and TARDIS references in the card art. It includes 100 cards, tokens, a life tracker, a deck box, and a strategy guide, all ready for play. The blue-white-black color identity focuses on flickering creatures and value engines, with flavorful cards that capture the show's timey-wimey adventures—perfect for fans of the series. Gameplay and Strategy: In our casual games, the deck excels at recurring threats and disrupting opponents through blinks and counters, creating those epic "regeneration" moments that feel straight out of an episode. My husband loves the combo potential with cards that bounce and reuse permanents, leading to satisfying turns where the board resets in our favor. It's accessible for occasional players like me, but shines in multiplayer pods where the theme enhances the storytelling. However, the mana base feels basic out of the box, with too many tapped lands that slow early plays—adding some fetches or better duals would help. Build Quality and Value: The cards are high-quality MTG stock with stunning Who-inspired artwork and some foils for flair, and the deck box keeps everything organized on our shelf, safe from the cats' paws. For the price, it's a solid value for crossover fans, offering upgradability and replayability without needing immediate tweaks. Pros: Thematic Doctor Who integration with fun blink and recursion strategies. Ready-to-play precon that's engaging for casual and thematic play. Beautiful art and extras like tokens enhance immersion. Great for couples or small groups wanting a narrative-driven game. Cons: Mana base could use improvements for smoother starts. Relies on specific synergies that falter against heavy removal. Some cards may feel niche for non-Who fans. Final Thoughts: The Timey-Wimey deck brings the excitement of Doctor Who to MTG in a way that's perfect for relaxed evenings with my husband, blending strategy and fandom. While it benefits from minor upgrades, the out-of-the-box fun and flavor make it worthwhile. I'd recommend it to sci-fi lovers dipping into Commander and might explore the other Who decks for variety.

Awesome, text heavy, powerful deck
This thing is great and if you can keep track of all the triggers easily, it's pretty easy to play and quite powerful. Rose can become the true hero in no time. The episode inspired cards and art are great and just make it that much more fun to play. The Missy deck is potentially way over powered, blasting the board with Dalek and Cybermen, making this feel less overpowered in the bigger picture. There are also a lot of great non-basic lands and of course a sol ring.
