Cheap, Efficient, Effective.
I’ll give it a 5 star though I haven’t used it. There are enough good reviews on here and on YouTube to assume that this is a good product and reliable. Some people may not think it’s the most tasty stuff out there but the point of this - to me anyway - is emergency & survival. It will give you enough nutrients to survive, it is easy to cook, and in a convenient container for storage and to carry; That’s what’s important. Also, the container can be used for something else afterwards like miscellaneous storage, water storage, a stool, toilet, etc. Compare this to Readywise that gives only 40 more servings for twice the price. Buy two of these.

Actually tried the kit. Had high hopes but was disappointed. Concerned by meal proportions.
I purchased this thinking it would be a good idea to have a shelf stable emergency supply of food for the future but I wanted to test it first to see if it was any good before stocking up on any more. The first sign that things were not right was when I inspected the newly arrived emergency food kit and found that the edge of one of the meal packets was caught under the sealed bucket lid. Once freed, you could tell the packet had been torn from being jammed under the lid like that. There was a hole in the packet which was spilling powdered food into the bucket. It wasn't a huge spill but there is no way that packet can be considered properly sealed on arrival. Bacteria could have gotten into the packaging while there was a hole in it. Despite that one flawed packet (I assumed I was just unlucky), I decided to try preparing the other meals over a period of time to see how long the emergency kit would actually last. This is vital information to know before, heaven forbid, you're forced to use the kit in an actual real emergency. Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, the amount of servings stated on some of the meal packages and the reality of what you are actually getting do not match up. With some of the meals it felt like you had to have very dliuted portions for it to look like it was enough. Following actual instructions, you'd have to hope only 2 or 3 grown members of your family needed to eat. Anyone extra was going to go hungry that meal. Or everyone was going to end up getting very tiny portions instead. At the moment, I only eat about twice a day but this food kit still had me concerned. It's still better to have around than nothing but I wish the description of how much you were getting was more truthful/accurate. Just keep that in mind if you have a larger family. Make sure not to buy only one bucket thinking everyone will be properly fed. Also, like another reviewer mentioned, the food packets are not resealable. So, if you only intend to prepare a portion of a packet, make sure you have a Ziploc bag or some other airtight container to store the remaining unprepared food in. What I did after I cut open a packet was simply put the entire packet into a gallon sized Ziploc bag. That way I had the food and cooking instructions together for next time (since the instructions are right on the food packet). To be honest, I didn't want to leave a negative review. I had high hopes for this emergency food kit when I ordered it. But I think it's important for customers to know about the potential cons of a product and let them decide for themselves if the item is still worth it despite those cons, especially for a product as important as this. This kit may help your family get through a short emergency but I think it needs to have better meal proportions than what is being offered. Unfortunately, I will be searching for a different brand of emergency food kit or learning how to grow and safely store my own food in the future. One last thing I nearly forgot to mention... There's a fair bit of cheese/dairy as an ingredient in this kit, so beware if you or someone in your family is lactose intolerant.
