Stovax Thermolac Brush On Stove Paint

Having moved house a month or so before Christmas we 'inherited' a large wood burning stove in the sitting room. Although it worked very well, the stove had been neglected a little and had a number of marks on the top which could not be removed by cleaning. The Thermolac stove paint has now completely revitalised the wood stove. Although it appears 'runny' the paint is very easy to apply and leaves no brush marks and an outstanding finish. Circumstances allowed me to leave the stove for thirty hours between painting and lighting. There was still an odd, slightly fishy, smell the first time the stove got hot but that was a small price to pay for a new look wood stove. Arrived very well and sensibly packaged too.

I stripped about 20 layers of paint off a cast iron fireplace. It wasn't great with rust spots underneath the paint so I covered the fireplace with the stove paint and it looks fantastic now. I gave it two coats. There are no brush marks and it has given the matt black finish I was after. Also, the small pot went a long way. I have coated 2 fireplaces twice and still have just under half a pot left. It doesn't rub off on your hands when you touch it, however if you run a cloth over the fireplace with some force, then some black residue comes off. I can live with that though!

I needed to paint a stainless steel flue pipe matte black to match a Stovex wood burner.The paint was easy to apply without dripping. It gave good coverage and dried quickly.The flue pipe paint has not been affected by multiple uses of the wood burner, so I would say it is heat resistant.It is difficult to get excited about a tin of paint, so maximum four stars, but it does what it is supposed to do and does it well. The tin contained far more paint than I needed so I can add more coats if needed in the future.As an additional comment, my Stovex wood burner is excellent. I have a ready supply of wood so it provides cheap home heating. It burns efficiently leaving little ash, and is easy to light and to clean.

We had a new Stovax wood burning stove installed and several months later I noticed a mark on the top surface. Whether it had been scratched or not I don't know but it was unsightly.I bought a tin of Stovax paint and just coated the marked part of the surface. I was a little sceptical because it showed up against the rest of the surface. However, the next day, after the stove was used the previous evening, there was no sign of the mark. Obviously when this paint cures it blends in. Because of the density of the paint, a 200ml tin will go a long way. I don't want to have to use it again but if I do I can be sure of an excellent finish.Highly recommended !

This is a great product. The paint is very easy to apply and when dry there are no visible brush marks. The fumes are quite strong during application, so have the room well ventilated, but it soon dries (20 mins) and is then odour free. We used it to spruce up our wood burners in the sitting room and kitchen and they both look better than new. There was no noticeable paint smell when we fired up the stoves a couple of days later. Highly recommend.

Used this on an old shot blasted cast iron fireplace. Very easy to use. Goes on smoothly and the finish is first class. Brilliant stuff. Please note: the finish is matt. Make sure you give the paint a really good stir and use in a well ventilated place as the fumes are a bit heavy

at first looked good job done but when sunlight catches it it shows as stated matt black but it took more than one fire to get rid of burning smell if you want matt this is for you
