Really nice quality. Have bought as a gift and was surprisingly heavy when first delivered. Read through of the game is clear, though like with any game, the first few goes are to get used to playing.

Modern Art was the first game of Reiner Knizia`s `auction trilogy`; the other two being Medici (1995), and Ra (1999). Modern Art is my favourite by some distance. Every turn is ridiculously tense, with players all attempting to out-psych the others, never sure if their bid is going to be worth it all or nothing at the end of the round. The game is pure eurogame at it`s best: simple rules, short game time, but deep strategy.

Ein ganz wunderbares Spiel, sorgt jedesmal für eine tolle Stimmung Wer auf auktionsspiele steht, kann es ruhig und getrost kaufen. Das Regelwerk ist auf englisch aber das Spiel an sich hat meiner Meinung nach keine Englischkenntnisse nötig.

Gran juego y divertido para todos, si consigue recrear la sensación de competir en una subasta. Recomiendo imprimir unas tarjetas de ayuda para facilitar la subasta. Al enmicar las tarjetas cabe perfectamente dentro de la caja

Modern art is a great game with excellent production value. For those unfamiliar with the game, players take turns playing cards which depict pieces of art from 5 different artists, and then the played cards are auctioned via various auction styles. After the art is auctioned off, their value is determined, and players receive money (points) for the value of their art collection. The mechanics in this game are very thoughtful, and there is good room for banter and table talk, for those who like to have fun with that. The art in the cards is vibrant, and inspired; each artist in the game -although they were artists that I'd never heard of- has a very unique style. My main criticism of this game is that it tends to play longer than the box would indicate, but I've never minded that too much since we've always had fun the entire time. This is a great game for casual and seasoned gamers alike!
