When the fireplace mantel was fitted, it was slightly sloping down, so decided to remove it. Wanted a strong, fireproof cement, and VITCAS was recommended on various reviews. The mantel is now fitted level, and initially wedges need to be used to keep it in place. VITCAS fireproof cement is exceptionally strong when fully cured. Finished off with white, non stone staining sealant, for the edges.

Bought this to refit some slate tiles that had fallen off the side of the recess housing our multifuel stove. It was easy to apply and to date the tiles are secure. The previous fitter had used a dot and dab technique but I applied a more liberal amount in a linear style. This allowed the adhesive to fill the uneven background and I was impressed with the grab of the adhesive. It was well worth paying for this heat resistant adhesive instead of the cheaper alternatives out there.

Good adhesion, especially for a hearth in front of a low level (Baxi) open coal fire. Easy to apply from the tube. 'Setting time' under large tiles is probably much longer than the (hard to find) quoted 24 hours - but more importantly, the 'fix time' (to the point when you can grout without worrying that the tiles will move) is covered. In reality you're not likely to apply more force than typical grouting! Why only 4*? Firstly, to give some perspective, we're in Covid Pandemic Times! I contacted the company with a couple of questions about the adhesive and black fire cement (see my other review), waited 5 days and received answers to (irrelevant) totally different questions! More perspective ... the questions you ask go to the Sales team; there's no way to ask the techy team a question and during this difficult time, the techy team may not have been available. Conclusion: Excellent product, easy to use, great price - if you need 600oC plus you can't go wrong!

Product did what we needed but is difficult to get out, need a strong duty dispenser gun.

This adhesive was very easy to use. It adhered well to the slate tile that I was mounting above a wood burning stove as a mantel. The area gets very hot and so far I have not experienced any problems

Used on lid for firebowl once fire died down to keep rain off. Not a very good adhesive, fire bricks fell off lid after a couple of heat cycles.
