When I got the item (12V type) I plugged it into an ipad charger and measured the voltage, it only gave me 9V, I thought I had been sent the wrong item! But turns out the ipad charger does not support 12V so it was producing max 9V instead, so double check the output voltage before plugging it into an expensive device! Intuitively I would have expected it to give nothing instead the lower voltage of an incompatible charger. Otherwise, given a suitable charger, has been working great for me powering wifi router, ethernet switch, etc

A good quality cable and connectors. I bought this to power an IC-705 from a PD-capable battery pack. It works well.

Perfect for the job. I bought this to run modified Sega Saturn console. These are the Saroo model with no disk drive and a modified PicoPowerPSU. These typically come with 5v4A power brick that usually feel pretty sketchy. This cable was a straight swap that I pair with Ugreen Nexode USBC power supplies, it's running off a 100w mutli port wall socket and a 20000mah power bank with USBC PD no problems at all. Perfect for this use case.

I ordered about 4 of these cables and every single one broke within a few weeks. The USB-C connector is built very poorly and feels extremely fragile. Unless you plan to plug it in once and never touch it again, don’t bother buying this. The USB-C end keeps coming loose, it looks like it was just pressed in without any real support. After a few normal uses (plugging in and out), the entire silver USB-C tip simply falls off the cable.

Works for its intended purpose, but seems to negotiate 9V if the charger doesn’t support 12V, which to me is unexpected behaviour. I wouldn’t feel safe using this without a USB-C meter attached inline to check the voltage. Polarity is not indicated anywhere but the inner part is positive. You can use it to charge a Shark fan.

This is so convenient. I use it to power my Plantronics base station for my DECT headset. I no longer have to use the only single socket on the desk in my office. I just plug into the USB C fast charger socket. Make sure you purchase the correct voltage/power rating for your device.

On some power supplies it negotiates 9v not 12v

Bueno, para lo que lo quería funciona, que es para poder alimentar de manera externa mi Echo Show 8 2gen, o más bien su base con batería. Como podéis ver en el vídeo, la batería le suministra 20V de tensión, y 0.3A, y me funciona tanto para el Echo Show 8 2gen, como para su base con batería, y lo más importante... el cable soporta los 20V. Importante... si lo queréis para lo mismo que yo, vuestra batería o cargador externo ha de ser de como mínimo 30W y poder suministrar 20V, (mi batería externa es de 65W como veis en el vídeo) Luego el cable, de todos los modelos que hay, tiene que ser el de 20V de 5,5x2,5 y lo suyo, es usarlo sólo para la base cargador aunque como habéis visto, también funciona con el dispositivo. Como veis en la foto, este cable también viene con una toma hembra a la que le podéis conectar el cable de un adaptador al que se os haya roto la clavija (tener en cuenta la polaridad, que en corriente continua es importante) Contento con el cable sí. Cumple la función que dice... y soporta 20V. Le doy una puntuación de 8 sobre 10. ¿Qué le habría faltado? Pues venir protegido con malla de tela, lo que aumentaría su calidad. Pero en definitiva, el cable funciona, que es lo importante, y más importante todavía... funciona para lo que yo lo quería.

I have a mini pc mounted to the back of my monitor at work. This is supposed to sit on a cart with a power supply so this PC can be entirely mobile. Both PC and Monitor use the same size 12v adapters. With a pair of these cables and a high voltage charge block I can now power both from the same plug. Freed up a plug on my power strip, removed a lot of cable management, and made my mobile setup simpler.
