Great product, I created the perfect watering system for my spices
I like to grow my own spices in my apartment, and because I am away a lot with my job, I don't always get to wet them, so they usually died. I searched for a fix for this and found on the internet an article on how to use a bottle cutter to cut wine bottles and then use them for plants so that they can take how much water they need on their own, without the need for you to keep taking care of them every day. I bought this glass bottle cutter tool for this project and I am very pleased with it. I've been able to cut the bottles easily, the cutting machine works very well and easy, and also the video tutorial they provide was a great help. The project was a success, I moved the plants inside the wine bottles I cut with the cutting device and it works very well. They now take their own water and I couldn't be more happier with the choice I made! Loved the bottle cutter product.

The best way to cut glass bottles!
This product is very well made and has all the tools you need to be set up for success. I’m extremely satisfied that it has all the accessories you need to complete a project such as safety gloves and sanding paper. That alone saves you a trip to the hardware store. It also includes a handheld glass cutter that enables you to create more projects depending on your skill level. I don’t have a lot of experience with glass bottle cutting but the design of this cutter is very user friendly that I was able to figure it out. The board grips the table well and doesn’t move when you roll the bottle so it gives you a straight score line all around. The backstop is firm and sturdy. Very simple to use. Simply set up the backstop to hold the bottle in place, apply even pressure and rotate to make a light score line around the bottle. After that, it is up to you and science to get a clean cut. This will take some learning curve but the product itself has worked as designed which is to give you a nice, light score line. So look up youtube tutorials for the best ways to heat/cool the score line for that nice clean cut and don’t blame the tool! If you’re a DIYer, you will love this product. So many project ideas you can do and a great way to repurpose old bottles.

Improved Design
I actually already had this bottle cutter and didn't love it but they offered to send me one for an honest review. I'm happily surprised to see the design is greatly improved from the first one I bought. 1) easier setup with only 1 screw on top instead of 4 pieces needed to connect on top and bottom 2) solid L- bar is sturdier and less likely to bend 3) switched to butterfly nut for easier tightening on the scoring blade. 4) improved instructions from 1 page to 2 pages 5) non-slip base 6) comes with sandpaper 7) spread out wheels makes for sturdier turning of longer bottles. My only notes to keep in mind are that some bottles have a bumpy base and won't move smoothly across the bar. You have to hold the L bar really sturdily because it will bend a little which may move your score line to not be straight. Just be sure to practice. The heating/cooling method is something I'm still trying to trial and error. The pouring hot water way doesn't allow for doing a lot of bottles at once. I think a combination of scoring and using the string/fire method might end up being a good combo for doing a lot of bottles. I dont recommend putting the whole bottle in hot water because it ends up cracking in all the wrong places. Video advertised it coming with extra wheels. Mine did not. But I'm not sure they're entirely needed either.

Does the job, but not great.
I bought this to do a specific project. Turns out, the bottles I was looking to cut, where I wanted to cut them was just in the wrong place. The way the adjustable part of the cutter works leaves out about a half inch in the middle of their range of lengths. This was super frustrating because me, as the buyer does not think to have to worry about that, they give you their range of lengths that you can adjust the cutter, and I figured I was good to go. After a lot of frustration, I created a fix for it: taping some scrap wood to the metal adjusting piece so it was cutting at the right length. However I will also note that when screwing in the metal L that is used to adjust the length, do make sure it is very tight. I had a few times where it wasn't tight enough, and mid cutting a bottle it slid along the track. Also, the blade itself is adjustable as well, but this is a problem because it will come loose and push downward if you are cutting a bunch of bottles in a row. You have to make sure it is screwed in really tight, and check it periodically. Last note, if you are looking to cut bottles that are quite small in diameter, this is not the best for that because the white rollers are spaced kind of far apart, so a small bottle will just fall in between them. But I believe they have that noted in the product description. Ultimately, it cuts the bottles, so if you take these things into consideration and just work around them, it does the job. The kit came with everything advertised and was easy to use after I dealt with the issues I've listed.

I must say I just love my bottle cutter
I was looking for a glass cutter and I came across this bundle. I must say I just love my bottle cutter, it's brilliant. Along with the glass cutter and bottle cutter I got cut resistant gloves and sandpaper. The bottle cutter is awesome, I've had a great time with it. It took around two tries to learn how to cut bottles correctly, and well.. since then I've been making glasses and vases with it like crazy, I even made an ashtray and it came out great. One over the other it's a quality product that surprised me in a pleasant way, very useful too. As for the glass cutter, it cuts fast and easy and I like that you can open the lid to refill it. Some time ago I ordered another model that couldn't be filled, so after it had no more oil it was just no longer any good. This is not the case with this one, you ca remove the lid and refill it with the little tool they give you. I am very excited about my purchase, and I will order again from them for sure.

Expensive and unique way to make broken glass. Use a hammer instead.
Don't be fooled. The easiest part of this product is clicking the purchase button. Written instructions are horrible inadequate. Poor overall design to get the size bottle cut that you want. Cutting implement does not score well and no instructions on how long to score a bottle. Hot and cold water will not work. Boiling water and ice water didn't work for me either. I used the "rubberband" method and that did not work. I am extremely well versed in the shop and with the use of tools and just don't think this many people have had success with wine bottles or beer bottles. I tried both. I was able to get one bottle to break pouring scalding water over it. Broke everywhere but on the score. Just pay to have someone do it for you that owns a glass shop.

Simple bottle cutter, perfect for beginners !
Ok so I have an Etsy shop where I sell bottle crafts, and I genuinely think this is an amazing product. I have used just one other bottle cutter (which I got from amazon also) and I could almost never get one continuous etch line even when I pressed pretty hard and repositioned the blade. And I’ve been doing this now for almost two years. With this one from homeproshops I had to put about half the amount of pressure, and my score line was perfect every time. I etched 8 bottles in a row of all different textures and sizes. None of my bottles cracked when I was trying to separate them, when normally probably a little less than half were cracking when I used my previous bottle cutter. Another plus is that it came preassembled and with a pair of gloves. And to change the length of the cut all you have to do is turn a knob. It was so simple and worked so well! This is honestly the simplest tool I think I’ve seen for bottle cutting for beginners. Highly recommend.

Super fun to use!
This glass cutter is super easy and fun to use! I have been considering getting a glass bottle cutter for a long time and I am so glad I finally did. I watched many instructional videos on Amazon and YouTube showing how to use the cutter, and I feel like it was super easy to cut this bottle correctly after doing so. The most helpful tip I heard was to keep consistent pressure on the bottle and cut along the same line; in other words don't roll back and forth while scoring the glass or the break will be uneven. Another helpful reminder is that it might take multiple dips into the hot and cold water before the glass separates, but be patient and it will eventually come apart.
