First impressions of Tesmen Smart Multimeter TM-510 :- 1. Nicely packaged. Not what I expected of a buget price smart multimeter. 2. Quality Duracell 2 x AAA batteries shrink sealed. Once again I didn't expect higher spec batteries. Another pleasant surprise. 3. User Manual supplied. Instructions and functionality are simple and strsightforward. 4. Display is clear and easy to read. With screen backlight that can be switched on/off 5. LED backlight is useful to identify cables in poor lighting conditions. 6. Nice bag for Multimeter and probes The User Manual does fit snugly inside the bag and offers additional protection for the multimeter. 7. NB the red and black probes have tight fitting dust cover plugs that need to be prized-off. (I managed to remove them using a thumb-nail) Conclusion:- Whats not to like about this multimeter?Value for money. One of my best-buys. 👍

Just looking for a cheap meter for general use. I do have an expensive Fluke, but it’s big this is a nice compact size, and also great functions. Nice display, and love it comes with a built in torch. Good value, and as it will be used general use it is good value. Comes with batteries and easy to install.

I wanted a small cheap meter primarily to monitor domestic AV voltage fluctuation. Already have a 20 year old Fluke 189 but that is rather cumbersome to carry around for quick tests. Pros Small and light, carry case a plus Easy to use, measures AC voltage and DC voltages up to 600V (see comments below on resistance measurement) Compared side to side with the Fluke measuring AC 230V voltage, readings appear close, within 1V Cons The meter always appears to be in AUTO mode, ie no manual setting, so no way to no way to choose whether to measure voltage or resistance Minimum AC/DC voltage that can be measured is 0.8V If the meter detects a resistance less than 50 ohms it switches to measure continuity, effectively you can't measure resistance less than 50 ohm (last points make it not ideal things like hobby electronics, electronic circuit testing) The Duracell batteries are not marked AAA, although they are stamped as made in China so this could be normal. Be aware however there are lots of fake Duracell batteries around, many from well known retailers, fakes have a reputation for leaking and damaging the gear they are in (so suggest to check the condition of batteries from time to time) All in all, however, for the price, it does exactly what I wanted it for, hence the 5 star.

A perfect diy meter for home. great value for money, excellent display and the auto function for detecting what I am testing works perfectly for the basic tests I need. The torch is a nice feature but I will probably rarely use it but everything else is great, even the cable are about the perfect length, not too long to be messy but not too short to be hard to use.

Ready to use with two Duracell AAA batteries (none of your cheap rubbish!). Beware of other makes that use PP3 batteries - have you seen the price of those, if you can find them! It's a fantastic bit of kit for the price, and looks very well made. It has a simple on button with clear digital readout. The audible buzzer for circuit testing is nice and loud. The best bit is that it is automatic in sensing what you are testing. You can go from testing a circuit to testing voltage and it will sense what you are testing, if that makes sense! Much better than Draper and similar designs, with those twidley dials that seem like something out of the Ark compared with this. Also has auto switch off to save the batteries. Comes with a rubberised outer case and a cloth zip bag to hold the unit and leads (which are nice and long). It is compact and will fit nicely in your pocket or your tool bag. Well chuffed with this. My old one is going in the bin!

Got this TESMEN multimeter mainly for small DIY jobs and checking basics around the house and it’s been spot on so far. It’s compact, lightweight, and simple to use even if you’re not an electrician. The smart auto-ranging feature is a nice touch—saves time faffing with settings. I’ve used it to test AC/DC voltage, check batteries, and confirm continuity when doing minor wiring fixes. The screen is bright and easy to read, and I appreciate the non-contact voltage detection makes quick checks much safer. Definitely feels well-built for the price and does what I need without being overly complicated.

No, it is not industrial quality. And yes, it probably is not something a professional would use for day to day applications. But it's a great economical, (and pretty sophisticated ) little meter that can handle the basic tasks of a homeowner with ease. Let's define what I mean by that last sentence before going on, for all you "Pros" out there: checking to see if an outlet has power or not. Making sure that you turned off the right breaker. Checking for continuity of wires, say going to and from your speakers to an audio source. Is your laptop broken or is the power brick bad? Is it the fuse or is something wrong? There are hundreds of uses for something like this, and the features of this particular economical meter take the guesswork out of setup/use. The Non contact voltage detector on this unit works better than any I have previously used. A great safety feature that can be used by anyone. It lets you know as you approach a dangerous voltage without having to use probes. All other functions are completely automatic, so no more worries about the wrong function or the wrong range or having leads plugged into the wrong location. It does the work for you. Accuracy on voltages compares well to my other meters. The only thing I found about it that I didn't like is it's a bit quirky to get the backlit display turned on without messing with the built- in flashlight; both are good features, but controlled by the same button. One more issue which some others addressed; it does not have current measuring capabilities. And that's a good thing for the average homeowner because attempting to measure current is how the occasional users blow up meters. Period. This is a very nice meter for the money, and way, way above the little 5 dollar ones still being sold or given away; all of which are built with 30+ year old technology. If you are into 480 3 phase, a licensed electrician, or you're a lineman for the county, then keep looking.
