Mighty Little Pool Cleaner — It Absolutely Passed the Test!
I should have written this sooner. This thing is like the little engine that could! We went away for the week and came back to find our pool littered with grass at the bottom — the landscapers had come while we were gone. I honestly thought, there’s no way this little robot is going to handle all that! Well, it totally proved me wrong. It cleaned everything — even around those filter covers at the bottom of the pool where the grass had gotten stuck. I was shocked at how well it handled such a messy job. When I opened the debris compartment afterward, it was completely full of everything it had picked up, and the pool was spotless. I also bought the caddy, which makes storage super easy. After each use, I let the robot drain a bit, then set it on the plastic caddy — no water damage, no hassle. This little robot works hard, delivers amazing results, and is worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Convenient, simple, and effective.
The Dolphin was delivered today (ahead of schedule), and after reading the Quick Start directions, I put it to work immediately. There's almost nothing to it. Connect the waterproof cord to the console, drop the unit into the water, plug the console cord into the wall socket, press the power button. We have a rectangular fiberglass pool with salt water. It has a large sitting platform which is about 2 feet deep. The platform then drops off into the deeper (lap swimming) end of the pool. The pool is 6 feet at the deepest end. I dropped the Dolphin into the deep end then hit the start button. This unit is advertised. It was definitely vacuuming up the debris. It picks up the pebbles, and it actually crawls up the pool wall to the point where at least a third of it breaches the surface, then drops back in. However, I have seen it crawl up the 4 foot wall of the platform, at which time it cleans the platform (briefly), until it blindly rolls off the platform edge, descending into the deeper water. After two hours, the bottom was probably 98% clean. There were a couple of 90 degree corners that it just couldn't quite pick up, so I'm currently running it for another hour. Perhaps I will stir up those two corners next time to give it an assist. Lastly, our pool has two steps to the deeper water. The unit appears unable to crawl up the stairs. Five starts because it is convenient, simple, and effective. Update: In order to get the last 2-3% of dirt left over in the corners and at the base of the walls, we first brush the debris toward the middle of the pool floor. Then, we run this unit for an hour and the pool looks great! ~ We use this unit about once per week and always after the lawn is mowed. ~ I set it on a small 2x4 block to keep pressure off of the brush up front. I also sometimes set it on it's side when it's not in use. Nothing to warp when it's on its side. ~ We gently spray out the debris bucket with the garden hose. The filters on the side seem delicate/fine (which I'm guessing is why the fine dirt doesn't appear to pass through the system). ~ In order to retrieve it you use the power cord to pull it in. It's very light when it's in the water, but when it gets within reach, grab the unit itself. This prevents undue stress on the power cord when it's full of water. Bottom line: This thing doesn't care how blazing hot or ice cold it is outside or how long its work shift is, it gets the job done so you don't have to. Update (1 year later): The Dolphin still does its thing. When not in use we keep the unit in a pool locker in the back yard, except for the console. We keep the console inside the house to keep the electronics better protected. Prior to using the Dolphin, we brush the base of the walls. This makes it easier for the Dolphin to get this more easily. Sometimes I push the button for a second cycle, but it usually does a fantastic job with a single cycle. I've left it in our salt water pool for a couple of nights in a row before. It doesn't seem to mind and it doesn't let go of the debris during that time. I use it year round, usually at least once per week in the warm months, perhaps a little less in the winter. 1 year later, it still does the job very well. I'd never go back to doing this myself. The pool needs enough attention as it is (water testing, water level, filter cleanings, etc.). I do wish that it had a remote control option, something that I could hold so that I could direct it to "mow" the platform clean before plunging back into the deep water. Great purchase! I'd give it 5 stars again. Update (Beginning of 3rd year of use) Nothing has changed from above. I still store the dolphin (upright of the tracks) in the locker outside year round, the console is still stored inside the house. Prior to use I still sweep the base of the walls. This makes it easier for the unit to get the dirt and debris. The pool is clean in about 90 minutes, though I usually run it longer for an extra clean pool. I guess it takes about 10 minutes or so to sweep then set up, but it would take the same time to set up the manual system too. Same with break down, 10 mins or so either way. But of course with the Dolphin I'm off doing something else while it's doing its thing. No parts have deteriorated since it was brand new even in a salt water pool. It's as good as new still. I see newer Dolphin units with a built in swivel in the cord. After many hours in my pool the cord does develop the beginning of a kink (twist) in the cord but the cord is so long that this has never come close to hindering its effectiveness. After use, I lay out the cord along the lawn then roll it back up losing the minor twist for next use. I also see units with optional remote controls. For the large platform in my pool I simply manually (mow) it clean, that is I run it one length, turn it off, set it into position for the next run Turn it on, etc. Yes, I'm in ankle deep water with it as it's running but the platform gets clean in short order. I think a remote control for this short work would take longer. I need it to make several U-turns on the platform, slightly overlapping the previous run. I think using a remote would take much longer. Aside from that we're rarely in the water with the unit. Excellent pool accessory! Simple and convenient. Glad we made the purchase. It certainly is better than cleaning the bottom when it's 100 degrees or freezing outside.

Horrible product, horrible support, CEO Franck Sogaard clearly needs to go
My experience with this company (dolphin / maytronics) has been terrible. I bought one of these robots brand new and within 2 weeks it stopped working correctly despite following all of their instructions on how to care for the robot. I reached out to their customer service teams on numerous occasions over the past several MONTHS. I have received NO RESPONSES to multiple emails to their company. I have called on several occasions, and had to give up on a vast majority of those due to having to hold FOR OVER 2 HOURS WITH NO ONE PICKING UP THE PHONE. The one time someone did pick up after a similar amount of hold time, they were so utterly incompetent that after over an hour speaking with the lady, I had to give up. My time has value and I'm not going to spend days of my life trying to get support for a product WHICH IS UNDER WARRANTY WITH THE COMPANY. Honestly, the level of 'blocking' I have experienced should be illegal when trying to get warranty care. Now, I was just going to accept my loss and never do business with this company again, but I just received what is possibly one of the most infuriating emails I've ever had. The Maytronics CEO, Franck Sogaard, thinks it is appropriate to acknowledge their horrendous customer support over the past year, NOT DO ANYTHING TO SUPPORT ME OR MY BROKEN ROBOT, and then offer a 'gesture of appreciation' to LET ME BUY MORE OF THEIR PRODUCTS FOR 10-15% off. LOL. Ok, Franck. I think we know what the problem is - YOU. Franck has time to send marketing emails disguised as apologies, and yet no one at the company can return months old emails. Maybe, Franck, you should do something actually useful and start answering customer emails yourself. To be clear, the CEO of this company just acknowledged that their customer service is horrible in areas including slow responses, delayed issue resolution, and slow parts delivery. Here is the exact email, which combined with the above information should allow you to make an informed decision not to do business with this company: " I’m reaching out personally to say something we should have said sooner: we’re truly sorry. Over the past year, many of you contacted our customer service team for help - whether it was to fix your Dolphin robot, get replacement parts, or simply ask a question. And too often, we didn’t meet your expectations. We were slow to respond, delayed in resolving issues, and at times, left you feeling unheard. That’s not the Dolphin experience we promise, and it’s certainly not the one you deserve. At Dolphin, we pride ourselves on delivering joy, simplicity, and reliability. Your pool should be a place of peace, not frustration. And yet, we know that for many of you, our service fell short. We let you down - and for that, I offer my deepest apologies. We’ve taken your feedback to heart. We’ve made changes to our support systems, invested in faster part delivery, and restructured our service teams to ensure that when you need us, we’re there. These improvements are already underway, and we’re committed to earning back your trust - one clean pool at a time. As a small gesture of appreciation for your patience, we’d like to offer you a one-time-use coupon code for your next purchase on Maytronics.com🔍 Simply enter your unique code at checkout, and your discount will apply automatically: 10% off orders under $500, or 15% off orders of $500 or more. This code is valid for six months and will expire on June 2, 2026. " You have been warned.

Great robot and customer support!
Update April 13, 2023. I had some problems with the robot not moving much and contacted Mytronics . As the robot was still in warranty, they provided troubleshooting guides and instructions to sending back for repairs if did not work. We sent the robot for repair and was repaired in little over a week. As the cable had a short, they replaced the cable, as well they replaced the basket, brushes, and more. Mytronics stays behind their products, awesome and refreshing! I will always buy a Dolphin based on this experience! Old post. I purchased the robot about an year ago to replace the 'creepy crawly' skimmer attached pool cleaner and since then it has been in the pool majority of the time. Due to the fact it has been in the pool water for an entire year, the plastic cover color faded little bit but does not impact the functionality. So far it had been working fine however, while it cleans the pool of debris I'm not sure if it cleans better than the 'creepy crawly' on the concrete finish pool. The advantage of 'creepy crawly' is it works as long as the pool pump runs therefore any attachment attached to that hose would work far long than the two hours robot works with potential much more suction. I like the fact you can run it independently of pool pump and it climbs / scrubs walls. However I'm not sure of the percentage and quality of wall cleaning it does. Now I can use the skimmer for its purpose, cleaning the surface of the pool. Having said that, there are things I wish they were different. > The bottom rubber fins the supposed to help scrub floors start detaching from day one and eventually lost them almost all. I did not attempt to purchase replacements as it is useless, they would not stay in place anyway. I will probably have to plug the holes where those fins were attached because it might affect suction and debris entering body outside of the filter. >Temporary loss of outlet power causes the controller to turn off, there is no program resume or renew when power returns therefore, if you are not home, robot would not run until you return. Therefore if you do not have a more advanced model (wifi, scheduling, etc) you are out of luck. > Cord might eventually twist and have to be unwind because of the natural motion of the robot, not really a big deal. This is the trade off between a battery powered one and plugged in one. I will probably still choose plugged in one. Overall I believe it is an OK robot however, I wish I could haves purchased the more advanced one with schedule and wifi but was over my budget. Would I purchase it again, I'm not sure at this point, maybe a more advanced one if budget permits. Important: Would I recommend it to a friend, maybe yes with caveats of all written above.

Dolphin Nautilus CC Automatic Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner
Good overall performance. Excellent vacuum functionality it picks up most types of yard debris. Wall climbing ability is good. Corners and stairs are challenging, if it can’t negotiate it, it moves on. After it completes its cleaning cycle, if needed I run a second cycle. Buy the Dolphin Nautilus caddy and cover its great for easy storage and transport. Follow the deployment instructions.

First Impressions (and then some more later on)
07/21/22: 24' Above Ground Round Pool Received Nautilus CC yesterday and just now placed it in the pool and started the first cleaning. Watched if for about 10 minutes to make sure it ran and so forth. Watched as it climbed the walls twice and maneuvered around some of the pool. Each path it took on the pool floor picked up debris (small stuff is all that is on there). I'm anxious to see how it handles the edges of the pool floor, if it can scour them. Put a plastic tub over the controller in case of rain (tub also holds the vacuum, power cord and controller when not in use). Set the auto run program to every other day (#2). Will update as a week or so goes by. So far the two things I've '5' starred are accurate and in addition it's easy to set-up and operate. The 'overall' ratings will change as it does its job of vacuuming the pool... or not. 07/28/2022 Update Have used the Nautilus CC a number of times now and have it loaded with the ultra-fine filter. It continues to do a fine job. There were some spots not addressed, small amounts scattered near to the edge/wall, a little hand brush work loosened them up and the vacuum took care of it. I find that I need to run it every other day as the pool is 1/3 of the way surrounded by deciduous trees... they drop dirt/dust in the wind and rain. The vacuum runs its course for about 2 hours and the pool is very very clean. Also the concern about the power cable getting tangled up... not happening. Although the cord does overlap or underlap itself, it doesn't get tangled so as to restrict the vacuum. the Nautilus CC does not have the anti-tangle device for the power cord.Due to the Nautilus CC being plugged into the main pool timer, the power to it cuts out about 7 pm every evening. This cancels the memory function as the controller has no power. No big deal. I've left the Nautilus CC in the pool for 4 days and just move it to the floor side near the ladder should someone go in the pool and then just powered it up from there. A nice addition to this entire unit would be a rechargeable battery built in for the controller so that it doesn't lose its memory when the power shuts off. Just a thought. I give this a two thumbs up one week into using it. another update much later on... maybe. UPDATE - 08/30/2022: I am very impressed with this DOLPHIN Nautilus CC cleaner. I run it every 3rd day now and the pool remains near to spotless. This year here in upstate NY the weather has raised havoc with algae growth and so forth, but given chemicals an then using the DOLPHIN Nautilus CC vacuum, the pool has remained pretty clean. I will state that the cord has gotten twisted, but nothing that is hard to untangle and even when 'tangled' some from twists and turns by the DOLPHIN Nautilus CC vacuum, it is easily pulled apart by the DOLPHIN Nautilus CC vacuum itself as it moves around underwater. I highly recommend the DOLPHIN Nautilus CC pool vacuum g.v.m.

My new best friend :)
Easy set up and use. Works great! I was cleaning the pool myself but couldn't get the dust/sand at the bottom, the spouse finally talked me in to spending the money. So glad! It picks up everything, leaves, tree berries and the sand at the bottom. Impressive wall climber too. It didn't do the steps but we only have 2 so I brushed it off for the dolphin to pick up, no big deal. Very happy with this purchase. It is new, so I will edit this review if doesn't last long. But, it does have a 2 year warranty. So far so good!

Very good and efficient when it works, but not very good durability.
So I bought this cleaner after my first one broke down after 6 years or so. I bought this model in February of 2023 and it works great. Very efficient, but as others have stated the cord does get twisted up. That being said, fast forward till now, and it's already breaking down on me. I made it a point to be gentle pulling it in from the pool and placing it back into the pool, rinsing it off after every use, and letting the cords relax after untangling them. However, I am disappointed after spending a good dime on this and now it's starting to break down. From what I can tell the main issue is where the cord plugs into the cleaner itself. At least for me anyhow. It is beginning to crack around the cord near the base where it is seated into the machine. So, after roughly a little more than 2 1/2 years...it's a fairly expensive piece of equipment down the tubes unfortunately. -Update 10/27/25 - So I replaced the cord not long after leaving the original review. I found a local verified Maytronics pool vendor near where I live. After replacing the cord, it worked again for a couple more months. However, now it does not move at all. It will just run a 2 hour cycle just pushing water around above it, but no longer will move about the pool as it should. I've inspected it inside and out for any apparent damage or parts that may be causing it to fail, but none can be observed. Not sure if it's something internal with the motor, but again, this is where I am at with this unfortunately.
