#1 dry food must to have
The Emergency Food Ration Bars (1 Pack) are a reliable option for survival situations or emergency preparedness. They are compact, lightweight, and easy to store, making them ideal for keeping in emergency kits, cars, or backpacks. The bars have a decent taste, slightly sweet and not overly dry, which makes them more palatable compared to other survival rations. Each pack provides enough calories to sustain energy levels during emergencies. They also have a long shelf life, giving peace of mind for long-term storage. Overall, a solid choice for anyone preparing for unexpected situations.

20 years of shelf stable food. Just in case. And peace of mind.
I can't tell you what they taste like. They arrived promptly. They are heavy not a bad way. So dense would be a better word. Just from the heft, it's gonna keep you full for a while. They have a 20 year shelf life. The expiration date on the box is 2045. I'm just gonna keep them stashed for the next 19 years. Knock on wood. I have mine stashed in a sealed 5 gallon bucket. Just to make sure no rodents get to them. You don't have to worry about bugs. The wrappers is very sturdy.

Interesting - a mild, savory shortbread cookie - priced to try
I purchased these purely out of curiosity - for a long time I've been wondering when someone would create a truly generic "nutrient bar". Something like Soylent in sold form; sort of bland and enriching, without any conspicuous flavor. These seemed like a promising candidate. Honestly, they are close. They are not a nutrient bar by any stretch - these are pretty much all about the energy needed to survive. I wouldn't want these as a meal replacement bar. However, I think they'd make a great quick energy bar while hiking, backup meal for my laptop bag, or an emergency ration bar for my car, the sort to keep you going in a difficult situation. In flavor, as others have said they are basically a shortbread cookie, a blander, milder, drier, somewhat crumbly shortbread cookie. However, they have a mild savory undertone - so a shortbread cookie made with beef tallow or ghee or something like that. They are modestly sweet. I think they could have used a little bit of salt, maybe to turn up the savoriness just a hair, to make it easier to survive on these for more than 24 hours. They are dry and crumbly, but surprisingly I didn't find myself parched when eating one - I could easily eat it without any liquid, though I'd probably want some after the fact. Easy to bite into, chew, and swallow, but durable enough that they don't just dissolve on contact with your fingers, they only break up once you bite into them. In terms of digestion; I have had no issues after two bars, and a family member reports the same after one bar. I didn't feel bloated, and felt no discomfort otherwise, it didn't interfere with anything. I did feel satiated - really satiated after eating one, but the family member did not report the same. They may have been more active than I was that day. I was wary about trying Chinese ration bars, and will try to find an equivalent bar made in the US, but so far these are fine. I would prefer to find some which are individually vacuum sealed; these come 4x to a vacuum sealed pack, which is enough for a day's energy at 400 kiloCal per, but that doesn't really work if you just need one in the midst of a hard hike. The vacuum-sealed pack was very durable and felt tough and secure. The bars are individually wrapped in a clear plastic envelope, which is about enough to keep the water and dust off them and keep them separable from each other. The price is too high. You can get these bars (individual, not four-pack) for about $0.60 apiece through other suppliers. If you want to actually store these for emergency rations for yourself or your family, I would recommend going with a different route. However, if you just want to try a pack to see how they taste, this is fine. Broadly; would recommend for short-term, non-critical emergency rations. Maybe they would be suitable also for critical need, but I don't know enough about them to say one way or the other. I would not go with these for my emergency food reserves at the house, there I'd keep canned goods and self-stable foods instead.

great taste/texture for the green one, TERRIBLE value. please lower the price!
The vegetable flavor one "crops flavor" is actually very nice. It looks like it'd taste like dried hay, but It's very barely sweetened, kinda like a ritz cracker. The texture and taste are also very much kinda like a thick ritz cracker. - like a subtly vegetable flavored ritz. not grassy at all, a nice savory thick dense bread. Maybe a few hints of some wheatgrass but it's very subtle. I kinda imagine this is what the elves in the lord of the rings ate. Genuinely? I'd LOVE this with some soup. I actually very much prefer it to the sweet shortbread cookie style bars. It's not very thirst provoking but also not very oily, a very nice balance, the texture is very nice. Each one in the foil pack is individually wrapped. But I thought the price was for a typical pack like the daltrex or other compressed food bars, that there would be like eight bars in here. there are TWO. That's an outrageous price, they're like $4 per bar. You can order fresh 2024 manufactured MRE's that are FILLED with tons of great food and drinks and a self heater for $3 per meal. If these were the same price as all the other compressed food bars on the market, I'd say these things as a 10/10, and a super great snack to bring with you to school or work (genuinely, I would eat these for pleasure) because there are just not enough savory snacks that are shelf stable and not super expensive meat stick, nuts, or pretzels. They're quite filling since you eat them slowly and can't just inhale them like a lara bar. If the manufacturer sees this, sell them for less. They're made in China, so I know they're not expensive to make. They're delicious. I want to buy them. But they're not worth it at nearly $8 for two servings. I also ordered the mushroom flavor so I'll review that when it comes, but man, these just make me sad because I know I can't afford to keep buying them! It's crazy that 6 of these costs as much as a case of twelve entire us military MRE's (the good ones) on amazon.

all things considered these are actually quite tasty. I got one of the peanut ones just to try flavour wise, cause if they tasted bad and I had nothing else to eat at the end of the world I wouldn't eat them. obviously very dry but that's good as no moisture means no mold. they come in a silver vacuum sealed bag with 4 smaller individual bars seperatly wrapped inside. nice and tasty, but crumbly but you'll definitely survive.
