Homido Virtual Reality 3D Wireless Headset Glasses for Smartphones - Black

I never write product reviews, but I'm so impressed with this headset. I bought a google cardboard viewer first, it was uncomfortable and didn't really work for me as I am long-sighted, but I loved the VR experience. This homido headset is significantly better, the straps are sturdy and fairly comfortable (remember you are strapping a phone to your head so it will be a bit heavy if your phone is) and the adjustable lenses mean that I can actually read text on the screen now. The VR experience is much more immersive because it fits fully around your face. The only disadvantage is that there is no button so for some apps I needed a bluetooth controller.

This is pretty much the top of the line in the Google Cardboard wars (with perhaps exception of the Galaxy Gear VR) Has lots of adjustability, and has a barcode of Cardboard games that require it. However, the phone clip is annoying when you need to take your phone out to make changes (or dismiss notifications), and the foam on the edges isn't thick enough and becomes uncomfortable after a while. Having said these, this is about as good as it gest at the moment, so if you're interested in experiencing VR whilst waiting to see what the big boys do, eg Oculus, HTC, Sony etc, then I'd recommend it.

This headset is easily better than a lot of the cheaper headsets on the market. Don't be fooled by other cheaper headsets such as the VRBOX. You will appreciate VR much more if you were to buy either this headset or the Freefly. After using both for extended periods of time, I'll tell review this unit and tell you the differences between this and the Freefly. To begin with, the Homido is well built and feels string yet still maintains extreme lightness. This headset will not push down on your nose and isn't at all heavy on the face, even with a phone inside. I've been using the Nexus 6p which is a huge phone and it doesn't make the headset heavy at all. The phone slides inside of the clip art the front which is very strong so don't worry at all about your phone sliding out. In the box you get an extra 2 sets of lenses, meaning you get a set of lenses for each eye type. This is such a huge advantage to this headset as not many others will offer such usabilities. On top of this, the headset allows for easy adjustment of the phones distance to the lens, to further improve experiences for people with impaired vision. The strap is the most comfortable I've come across. As it's stretchy, it allows for easy sharing of the device and it means you don't have to tighten it every now and then. It also does a fantastic job of keeping the weight off of your face and evenly distributing the weight over your head, making out feel incredibly light. One of the key things about this headset is the clarity of the lenses. It's insane for the price. Everything is visible and crystal clear. The padding for the face is quite nice, it's a type of foam that's nice and lightweight but is also very comfortable even for long periods of use. The final good thing about this headset is something that mostly goes unnoticed. The fact that it had vents in the headset is possibly what makes this headset stand out above the rest. Due to these vents, I got a longer battery life due to less overheating, and the lenses didn't fog up like on many other headsets. Trying to pick fault with this device alone is quite difficult as it ticks all of the boxes. However it has to be done. I'll also be comparing the headset to its main competitor now as these aren't quite negatives, just some things that could be improved upon. Th FOV (field of view) is at 100 degrees. This is above the majority of other headsets which sit at around 80. However after using the Freefly which has 120, there's a big difference. Due to being used to the Freefly, I found that being able to view the sides of the screen was slightly annoying and can ruin immersion. Also, the padding on the face could be nicer, the Freefly uses leather and it's just way more comfortable. However, the Homido is a load better than cheaper models. All in all, as a developer, I've decided to go with the Homido as my main headset for cardboard, as it's benefits make it much better than its competition for sharing and accessibility. Also, not having to wipe fog off of the lenses is a blessing.

I used these with an iPhone 6s Plus. The phone fitted okay inside the headset (but it is a heavy loading on your head - which is more about the phone than the headset). Unfortunately, I was unable to get the thing to focus clearly for me. There are adjustment wheels and a range of swap out plastic lenses but nothing was quite right. Now, I do not know whether this lack of adjustment and being able to get a sharp image was the cause, or whether I am just prone to it - but these made me as sick as a dog. Imagine the worse case of motion / sea sickness and then multiply it by 100 and you are not even close. They are a good priced entry model to the world of VR, but for me, it has to work perfectly or it doesn't work at all and these did not deliver on the promise. I have not tried any other VR glasses, so I don't know whether these are typical or not. I do know that through Amazon the returns process was excellent.

Eigentlich möchte man meinen, an einem Handy-Halter mit zwei Lupen (viel mehr als das ist ja an so einer Billig-VR-Brille nicht dran) könne man nicht viel falsch machen. Aber seltsamerweise schaffen es die meisten Hersteller, gerade bei einem derart primitiven Produkt noch so fundamentale Fehler zu machen, dass das Ergebnis schlicht unbenutzbar wird: da „ruht“ dann z. B. ein halbes Pfund Gewicht (inkl. Handy) so schmerzhaft scharfkantig auf der Nasenwurzel, dass es schon in der ersten Minute unerträglich wird – eine Horrorvorstellung, mit sowas einen anderthalbstündigen Film angucken zu müssen. Da lassen sich die Kopfgurte selbst für den durchschnittlichsten Allerwelts-Kopf nicht so einstellen, dass das Ding richtig sitzt und hält. Da kriegt man als ganz normal altersweitsichtiger Mensch – der zum Lesen eine Brille braucht – mangels ausreichender Verstellmöglichkeit kein scharfes Bild und muß erst noch provisorisch individuell besorgte Linsen zusätzlich reinpappen, um überhaupt gucken zu können. Da fliegt einem das Smartphone entweder bei jeder unbedachten Bewegung runter, oder der Deckel geht darüber nicht zu und rundherum kommt störendes Fremdlicht rein, oder das Handy wird rundherum so eingekapselt, dass es schon nach einer halben Stunde höllenheiß wird. All das – und noch einiges mehr an Ärgernissen – habe ich bei meinen bisherigen Versuchen, eine brauchbare VR-Brille zu finden, persönlich erlebt! Die Homido ist – nach mehreren Versuchen - meine erste, wirklich brauchbare VR-Brille: sie liegt angenehm großflächig und gepolstert auf Stirn, Schläfen und Jochbein auf, ohne auf die Nase zu drücken. Die Gurte sind sinnvoll dimensioniert und lassen sich sehr einfach passend einstellen. Für Fehlsichtige (Kurz- und Weitsicht) sind alternative Linsenhalterungen beigelegt; damit dürften auch die meisten Brillenträger problemlos scharfstellen können. Das Smartphone wird mit einem soliden Hebel weitgehend offen an der Rückseite angeklemmt; es sitzt da sicher und ist für schnelle Lagekorrekturen erreichbar; auch die an den Aussenkanten befindlichen Tasten und Buchsen bleiben problemlos zugänglich, und das Handy kriegt genug kühlende Luft. Unten über der Nase ist zudem eine Öffnung, durch die man das Smartphone mit einem Finger per Touch bedienen kann: mit der üblichen Software läßt sich so auch noch bei aufgesetzter VR-Brille Start/Stop und Vor/Zurück betätigen. So kann man alles Wichtige direkt am Smartphone steuern und muß nicht noch mit einer zusätzlichen Funkfernbedienung herumtüfteln. Das alles ist kein High-Tech; die Homido ist im Grunde genauso simpel und billig gebaut wie alle anderen, billigen VR-Brillen auch. Aber im Gegensatz zu den meisten Konkurrenten hat man hier bei der Konstruktion mitgedacht und die gröbsten Fehler vermieden; das Produkt ist damit rundherum brauchbar – sogar auch für Fehlsichtige! Deshalb habe ich ihr den – angesichts der einfachen Machart eigentlich nicht wirklich gerechtfertigten – doppelt so hohen Preis gegenüber der Konkurrenz verziehen und trotzdem die volle Punktzahl vergeben: für Konkurrenzprodukte, die schlicht nicht funktionieren, ist auch der halbe Preis rausgeschmissenes Geld. Man muß sich allerdings darüber im Klaren sein, dass die Wahl der VR-Brille erst die halbe Miete ist: das Smartphone muß für den Zweck geeignet sein, die Software zum Abspielen der Filme muß passen, ein Paar gute Kopf- oder Ohrhörer für anständigen Ton gehört dazu, und das alles muß auch noch richtig eingestellt werden. Ich habe mir extra für diesen Zweck ein altes Sony Xperia besorgt: billig, weil für allgemeinen Gebrauch technisch längst veraltet – aber mit seiner feinen 4k-Auflösung eignet es sich optimal zur Darstellung von 3D-Filmen. Smartphones mit bloßem FullHD kann man dafür im Grunde vergessen: pro Einzelbild bleiben da gerade noch maximal 500x300 Pixel übrig; das ist viel zu grobpixelig, um das Bild wirklich zu genießen. Selbst bei 4k Auflösung bleibt das Pixelraster immer noch sehr deutlich sichtbar. Bei der Software muß man nicht die von Homido angebotene nehmen; bei mir bewährt sich „VaR’s VR-Player“. Der kennt alle gängigen Formate, und man kann das Bild in allen wesentlichen Parametern (Bildgröße und Position, tonnen- oder kissenförmige Verzerrungskorrektur, Helligkeit, Kontrast usw.) optimal einstellen und den Player auch über Touch-Elemente am unteren Rand des Bildschirms steuern, wie oben schon erwähnt. Mit passender Einstellung auf dem Handy liefert die Homido ein wirklich gutes, sauberes, scharfes und unverzerrtes Bild. Nur die heftigen Farbsäume an kontrastreichen Kanten zeigen dabei die Grenzen einer einfachen Lupenbrille auf: das sind halt nur simple, unvergütete Plastiklinsen, keine aufwendig apochromatisch korrigierten Objektive… Aber angesichts der sowieso sehr begrenzten Auflösung auf dem kleinen Handy-Bildschirm stört das kaum. Wer mit der Homido extrem verzerrte, randunscharfe Bilder hat, wie es hier auch schon berichtet wurde, der hat schlicht die Linsen verkehrt herum eingesetzt: die gewölbte Seite muß zum Handy zeigen, die flache Seite zum Auge – andernfalls gibt’s eben diese Verzerrungen.

The headset is horrible. Its waste of money to buy this headset. Its very uncomfortable as it may hurt your nose. ( The padding of the headset is very poor). Also i can see the blurry images at the corner of the smartphone screen due to the poor quality of lens used in the headset. Please dont go for this headset!!!!!!.

Leggero, distanza focale regolabile, interasse oculare regolabile, 3 paia di distanziali lenti (non ho ancora bene capito a cosa servano, mi sembra che si veda uguale con tutti ) ottima custodia semi rigida. possibilità di utilizzare app che utilizzano la telecamera del cellulare. Si può inserire senza togliere la cover dal cellulare se questa come nel mio caso non è troppo voluminosa. Utilizzo con iPhone 6s ma alloggio è universale. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, il migliore. Altri Visori testati: VRone di Zeiss sufficiente ma non certo meglio, non è regolabile, molto pesante e molto più caro. AFUNTA pessimo non si riesce a mettere a fuoco.

La livraison a été très rapide ! Un emballage complet pour protéger son colis. Le produit arrive une boite personnellement très jolie. A l'intérieur l'on retrouve une boite de protection très belle, je trouve ca super et c'est toujours bien d'avoir une boite de protection que rien. A l'ouverture vous trouverez le casque, un manuel d'utilisation Français ! Un tissus pour nettoyer les lentilles et 3 paires de cône (une paire est déjà mise) pour adapter vos yeux si vous êtes myope, ... Ainsi que une bande scratch pour tenir le homido sur votre tête. Homido vous propose ses applications pour profiter au mieux du casque. Le casque propose une très bonne expérience de réalité virtuelle ! Les lentilles sont réglables ainsi que la distance entre le smartphone et les lentilles. Ce casque est parfait ! N'hésitez pas, et prenez le. Bref, voila mon commentaire sur ce casque Homido, une très bonne expérience pour s'amuser et voyager !

Viene con tres tipos de lentes para poder cambiarlas dependiendo de si tienes alguna deficiencia visual . Por eso las recomiendo . Llevo años usándolas pero con el uso la esponja se deteriora y no hay donde conseguirlo .
